As soon as you said it won't trim up I knew exactly what it was. Simple fix, now I'll watch the video to see if I'm right. So the owner doesn't pretrip and check his boat over and all you do is take the set screw and use thread locker on it problem solved.

😮😮 I'm going to start throwing change in the lakes I'm fishing! When I dump the boat in ! I can always use extra help

how tight should the trim pin be? ok to remove and apply loctite or is it a one-time and done bolt? i marked mine with a line to watch

How does Mercury keep dominated the industry? Seems like every major tournament trail they are strapped with a merc. You don't see near as many of the other brands. Probably more Mercury than all the other combined. I would like to know the answer to that. I know they have more power but seems more trouble too

Didn't they fix that on any of the newer ones past 2023 and release a fix for it to replace that set screw with something else?

Wish i saw this video a couple weeks ago just pruchased a new boat with this engine. A little concerned now

You should be ok now, was more prevalent on 1st editions of 4stroke, but as he said nothing wrong with checking from time to time. I check the engine on my 2023 Z520R every two or three outings. Better safe than sorry.... Congrats on new boat.... Semper Fi

Our Evinrude E-tec 150 has a cooling issue that’s not the water pump. Anything over 3,000 Rpms on plain the over heat alarm goes off on gauge What’s weird from brand new Ranger Z118 it was intermittent. I live in south arkansas no technician no way to diagnose. Stuck thermostat bad sensor something keeps tripping the heat alarm. Pumping plenty of water. If you know where i can locate a part. It was never fixed even under warranty

I have the same exact z19 and 200 PXS. I’m having the same issue but the trim pin and set screw haven’t moved. Could the trim position sensor lead to the same thing? Or is there a chance that the trim pin and set screw are still in there and the issue is still happening

I just went out and looked the trim pin and screw. I undid the set screw and I think the pin has rotated slightly and the set screw isn’t threading into the pin. Can I just adjust the pin and locktite it or do I need a new pin

Will stay with yanaha

Smart man I got rid of my merc last September and went with Suzuki I couldn’t be happier.

My Evinrude G2 hasn't had any trim problems... 😂

It doesn't trim, but sounds cool when it fires up.

I know my comment isn’t relevant to this video per se but, Andy you really need to try and help persuade Suzuki to start rating there engine at the prop shaft and not at the power head. If they would they would have some performance and actually have a true apples to apples to merc and Yamaha which both rate there motors at the prop shaft. If we get enough people prying on them maybe they will change and rate at the prop shaft

Suzuki’s main issue is their props not the horsepower. The lack of propping knowledge from dealers is crazy. We can make them run within a mile an hour or so of any Merc or Yamaha. Lack of speed isn’t an issue if you know how to set them up.

@@TeamMarineService does the scorpion tend to be the best prop in general for that motor? I have a buddy who put a Suzuki on his skeeter when his Yamaha blew up and he put a solar scorpion 27 on it and he’s running the same or a touch better than his Yamaha did.
