For a young lad, he gave very diplomatic and thoughtfull answers in the face of some daft questions. It's a shame his mother and her clingons forced him to continue working in the business, even after he dragged them out of poverty. RIP

I always believed he never would have been an actor by choice. His parents made him do that so he could support the family. He would still be here if he hadn’t been forced into an industry which was so alien to his own values.

Having met River's Mom and step Dad Jeffery , along with many Phoenix family friends. I must say how down to earth and charming ALL of them were. I was welcomed with open arms. I never once thought Arlyn Phoenix (Heart) was throwing River into anything he did not want to do. It was all about spreading a message of love, peace and non-violence. I can't describe how tight of a family they are. This includes friends. Not just blood relatives. I will agree that River might not have initially inspired to be an actor. He very much wanted to be a musician. His band Aleka's Attic, which included his sister Rain, were popular in the Gainesville club circuit. Heart, her husband Jeffery were nothing but charming, intelligent and oozed compassion. They surround themselves with like minded people. Such a warm environment to be around. River was young. Wise beyond his years. I don't believe River could be strayed away easily from his ideals and beliefs. He would not have been an actor had he truly didn't want to be. Even at the young age he became one.

​@@ghosted33his Spirit visited me last night in a dream we were in a car and everything around us was on fire and we didn't have enough gas and I kept screaming we're going to die we're going to die he kept saying no we're not just keep going everything's going to be fine just keep going so I kept going and all the sudden I saw a bright light and all these rainbows doves and swans and I felt so at peace it was so strange it felt like River was right freaking beside me I woke up and it was like I felt his presence with me telling me to keep going that everything is going to be okay look I've been having some health problems lately and I haven't felt good with all this crazy news and the war that's going on and it's really odd that he in the dream kept telling me to keep going and I feel like I can't right now😢

so whats upsettings is that looking back on his old interviews he SOUNDS and LOOKS sober... but something happened. i guess it was honestly that he dove too deeply into his character in my own private idaho. because yeah i think after that he was hooked on drugs and i feel so bad he overdosed 😓 AND maybe im imagining it but he never sounded this clear after that film.

So sad. He didn’t deserve to have his life taken from him.

But which was the Real River/Jude Phoenix/Bottom? At times he appears so damaged & vulnerable, at others he lives up to his Death by hard drugs. And the boozing. Was he Acting the Most in Interviews, the sweet quiet humble an Act? Was the real him ambitious manipulating with charm who liked to shock people - his own Brother says the abuse story was just that to shock the Press - he hated his goody 2 shoes sweet image & chose to hang out with horrible people. Could it be the Enquirer was right?! They called him a Hypocrite for pontificating a 'clean living' life when the total opposite was true. A chain smoker who told interviewers not to admit he was. Even at the end trying to retain his image quoted as saying "I want Anonymity! No Press!" The way he looked up at interviewers, checking their reactions to what he said, putting his hand over his mouth the classic Lying body language..... Even his Astrology profile refutes the 'clean living' Phoenix/Bottom. He had Mars Square Neptune, Jupiter in Scorpio, Scorpio Rising, Moon in Taurus - that's a tough cookie, a hedonistic living a Double Life profile. Whatever, he paid for it. RIP.
