Hi Jakko, I’m 70 and been cod fishing for many years, I have always fished the three or four days before the full moon with great success and the same time but to a lesser degree the new moon.With the barometer I don’t use but I have been on the river and a good storm is brewing,about 12 hours prior and up until the storm the cod have just gone on a crazy bite. I used to love walking the rivers to catch my fish but now days it’s boat. But just live for my fishing.My goal is to catch one more metre fish before my fishing days are done. man its a breath of fresh air to hear someone say they prefer to fish without livescope. I really feel like it loses the art of fishing and turns it into who pays win kinda thing in comps.

Hey Jakko, my goal this season is mainly to try and figure out what the cod like and what is the best way too fish for them so I can really put the piece's together and ultimately catch more fish.

Hey mate, great vids, really enjoy watching them, I've only just got back into the fishing scene after a fairly long stint out but coming back with more enthusiasm than ever, been a bit like you chasing the flatties down on the south coast, managed my PB the other day so want to keep going up from there. My Murray Cod goals are pretty simple this season mate and that's to catch one over the 80cm, was a dismal season for me last year and certainly hoping for some better results this season. I think your right when you say the old cliche of time on the water, I will be putting a lot more effort in this year so its only onwards and upwards hopefully, good luck to you for this season to bud, all the best, Cheers Brad

Brilliant stuff Jakko. I've grown up hearing my dad tell me stories of catching Murray Cod near Euchuca. At 46 I've finally got the fishing bug, and have been working pretty hard to get my first cod. Had some great walks, but nothing yet. So my aim is to catch one, have a good look up close and personal, and share it with my old man. Thanks for all the advice. It really helps

My goal for this cod season is to crack a new pb on a lure. I’ve caught a few cod on lures but not something I do every day. I love the feeling of a cod smashing that lure at your feet. Awesome video Jakko keep up the awesome work legend 💪💪💪

My goal for this coming season is to catch a few river system cod on top water and some prototype lures for my mate. Also, walk a few of the private property systems and pepper the lay downs and find a better pattern as it is all still new to me. I agree with the pressure being down low, I chase those barometer drops on clear days with good success as well. I find that I'm usually the only one about as it drops with the heat of the day, and if it's clear it's usually windy when it's down low.

As always another ripper vid Jakko, this season I’m hoping to put hands on a subsurface metery as so far mine have come from topwater. A swimbait eat would be the dream but I still find myself going back to the old faithful hardbodys and spinnerbaits on occasion due to conditions so see what happens.

My goal this year is to transfer what I’ve been doing with big flathead, catching big ones on large surface lures, and see if I can make that work for big cod in the river. You just can’t beat that surface explosion and the visual aspect of it. So, hoping this year to land some big cod off the top and hear some huge boofs! But I’ll still be using a lot of the more traditional methods, like you, in the rivers, mainly the Murrumbidgee. Cheers mate

Hey Jakko, I think what is great amongst these comments is the 1st time cod fisho's and the amazing influence your content and advice offers, My goal this is year is to crack a big cod let's say 80+ in a small system I'm aware holds them, get out of my comfort zone of smaller mid size baits to large baits targeting them. My PB is 69cm at the moment. Keep up the great work and nice to see your against what seems the norm with the scope, I've recently sold all mine and won't go back to it either. Tight lines for your delayed opening session brother!

Rad vid mate, I've always fished the rivers on foot even on those donut days just being out there in nature with no phone reception is always good for the soul! One of my goals is to get over my PB (currently 79cm) and do some solo camping/fishing.

I have never caught a metre murray cod so catching one this season would be great but my goal would be to step out of my comfort zone of fishing spinnerbaits in the rivers and start using swimbaits and hopefully get a 80cm+ fish. Hey Mate, My goal for this cod season is just to actually get out more. Being on the coast side of the dividing range it can be tough but when I make it happen it’s always great! Deletes a lot of head noise from day to day life and an amazing reset for the mind.
