I watched entire series 4X and various scenes MANY times which is not common for me. So many shades of emotions on both their faces and all actors gave such incredibly fine performances, esp River's new partner, his boss, Dr Cream, the police psychiatrist, Frankie... what heck-- ALL OF THEM.

River is one of the best series I have watched,Stellan and Nicola are two great actors..They have both featured is some great dramas..

I just watched River for the first time and I though this scene was beautiful and intense. There's definitely a chemistry between these two and I will love to see them together in another show again.

One of the most romantic scenes in a series or movie. The music, moves, and actors' facial responses always makes me smile. I have watched this scene over and over.

Loved this programme could watch it over and over. Wish they’d re - run it or even do some follow ups. Just beautiful terrific . Love anything Nicola is in but not seen anything else of Stellan.They were perfect together. Very emotional show.

Stellan Skarsgard has been in many American films that are listed in Wikipedia using Google. Also, 4 sons are actors with Alex being in many American movies and brother Bill recently in the Stephen King remake "IT."

This always makes me cry

Just watched this on public tv and was stunned. Never saw anything like it in a crime mystery. So beautiful and sad, yet with the best possible ending to such a harsh story. The two main characters were perfect together and yes, it made me cry at the end. So glad he found somewhere to belong, too.

I have just been to see Nicola Walker in The Corn is Green at The National Theatre. Mesmerizing as always. In the interval I was telling my sister about this series and this scene. Nicola Walker is truly wonderful.

Where did you watch it ?

When I saw the dance for the first time I broke out laughing and cheered. The big, dour Swed doing the moves. YES!

Watched this the other day, binged all night. This was so superb absolutely loved it

Just had a chance to watch this series nearly a decade after it first aired. More twists and turns than a corkscrew, great characters. leads were fantastic, Nicola and Stellan were inspired, don't think actors of a different caliber could have pulled it off. Tour de force.

Life is this. Love is this. With all the pain and tears and snot that go with it. Why shouldn't we worship those we love? And why shouldn't we be destroyed by the loss of those we love?

me too. I watched it a few years ago and loved it. Just now it means so much after my husband passed. I've having a hard time rewatching the series, but really love and cry through this scene.

Back here in July 2024. For those wondeing... who killed Stevie?? Love both Nic and Stel (if I may). Really, absolutely a second season should be made. The concept was imaginative, the leads vulnerable and worthy and the xefcts brill for a TV series. Whoever stopped this show should have lost their job, or make a second series! "I love you more than life". "Sing you nutter".
