Unfortunately rock is not very popular among youth nowadays, hip hop took that place. So you have to search it by yourself, because popular music media almost don't cover it (unless it's not Coldplay or Imagine Dragons, but are they ROCK?). Yet you can constantly see "born in the wrong generation" comments on the classics.

I saw Rival Sons last year and Greta Van Fleet this year. I own the entire discography for Rival Sons But Greta Van Fleet put on a much better show. Jay was the only one that moved around on stage, the rest of the band basically stood in the same place the entire show. Very low energy.

Jackson Frazer Great band, bur the songs are pretty average...hate to say it, but that’s the truth...nothing really interesting has happened in the rock world since the Seattle explosion...and I think nothing ever will...that was the last great period ...the “new” bands offer nothing new...

I still wouldn't be heard them if I wouldn't Be talking with my brother about what bands was going to be in festivals, and I Said there was band called Rival Sons but I Haven never heard them or Even The name of The band. My Brother replied that they are awesome and he played them from Spotify for me and I was hooked. And I have made sure that people on few Facebook music groups has heard them too. 😁

leahbeth walker: I went with a bunch of friends in August 2016 to see Black Sabbath's "The End" tour. I knew some band called Rival Sons was opening, but not much about them. It takes a LOT for a "new" band to impress me. Anyway, two of our friends were late (as always), and we were waiting to meet them outside. All of a sudden, all I could hear was this kickass rock band playing, with a singer whose power and range almost dropped my jaw to the floor. Texted my friends to meet me inside; I just had to see these guys! Been hooked on Rival Sons ever since. It's nice to have new music to look forward to.

Are you kidding? These guys are incredible. I literally heard this song at the gym as I was walking out. My kids were screaming as I was trying to make out a line to look up. I only could make out some of a line and ended up not being close at all but ended up finding them. I’m sooo happy

Dying to see them live. Straight up Rock N Roll bruh. Never seen a band where, the first time I heard and saw them, for me it was instant credibility and swag. Impressive.

This band has been steady delivering the rock n roll gospel now for so long people will eventually join their faith!

Love this band,Knew they would get bigger as time went on...loved em from the Start,Such a breath of Fresh Air and what an Amazing Sound,Wishing them all the best and Hope they go on to last as long as ZZ Top or Kizz,The Stones etc.... Long Live Rival Sons!!!!

I saw Rival Sons open for Black Sabbath on The End tour and they totally killed it! I was well aware of them before seeing them live, thanks to a friend of mine from England. I actually thought they were from the UK for awhile. Rival Sons got there 1st in the modern classic rock sweepstakes. Of course Black Country Communion may have been around already. ROCK IS BACK so come on USA embrace this band!!!

Im 60 was introduced to them about 5 yrs ago via sitting at my nieces house having coffee...l said put some music on and up popped Rival Sons ...l said wow l liked that...Oh Aunty Nice this is yrs old she says....Consequently after the song finished up popped a UK Tour list and l bought us tickets to see them in Ĺeeds England the following Yr...l loved lt l was 55 ...ld love to see them again

I was born in 1959; heard all the greats and seen most of them more than once. Rival Sons' rhythm beat and breaks courses right up one's spine and into the reptilian brain like a primitive taser. Claim the baton, lads.

It’s an absolute crime they opened for that shyte band of wanna bees. That's how Fd up the music industry is. It’d be like The Beatles opening for the Monkees.

I am admittedly and regretfully a hipster for classic rock. Now I'm not gonna back down on my position but classic rock is the true culture of what makes America great today. Not saying that all other music is trash, but classic rock is undoubtedly original music for being revolutionary at its time. There's almost no holes in the genre where you find pits of boring and unlikable music. It's all great. That being said, my uncle let me borrow The Great Western Valkyrie album because I'm newly into Vinyl and I almost immediately caught onto these guys. I'm so grateful to him and Rival Sons that I could fit into modern rock being so attached to classic rock. If this gets seen by the band, I just want you guys to know that you're changing my life in a very good way.

If Rock was still king, these guys would be a world wide phenomenon. If this band can't bring rock back, nobody can. Rival Sons' lead vocalist Jay Buchanan and guitarist Scott Holiday took a writing trip to a remote shack deep in the woods of south Tennessee to come up with songs for their Feral Roots album. This song (Do Your Worst) started with a riff that Holiday came up with during their time there. The guitarist recalled to ABC Radio that he came up with the idea of setting the amps and everything else out on the porch. Once they cranked up the amps, he came up with "this really dirty, menacing tone, going out over the water, over the entire holler." While that riff was echoing through the woods, Buchanan took a solitary walk during which he thought up lyrics. The singer eventually came up with some religious imagery that fitted like a glove with Holiday's guitar work: "The song needed to be me, the devil, and then a woman between us," he said.

OK, so this song is FUCKING INCREDIBLE. I saw you guys at the paradise rock club in Boston in 2017 and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I’ve watched these guys come a long way since I first saw them at the Manchester Academy 3 playing to about 300 people in 2011. Watched them numerous times since and they get better and better. This is proper rock n roll. End of. Greta Van Fleet are about as unique as Kingdom Come were in the 80s.

Scott Holiday has this awesome pimp from the 70’s vibe and pulls it off really well.
