It’s very interesting to me because the lips aren’t actually making the sound or helping create the coloratura at all. It’s almost like it’s a side effect of the muscular tension I’m not really sure. It doesn’t bother me at all really but some people can’t stand it. It’s very unusual though and sometimes silly but if that little idiosyncrasy helps her make such wonderful sounds more power to her.
