Great story. It reminds me of early days of training. Doing movement that seemed to have no meaning (until we used those same things in sparing). Quarters on my shoulders to improve smooth punching. and coins on my feet for smooth stepping and kicking....... and a whole lot more. instant skill and learning are a myth. The first lesson I learned was , "First I will teach you how not to fight, then How, when, and why to fight"

I loved Sensei Miyoda. A good teacher needs patience besides being good at their craft. Both those other sensei's were horrible, quitting when the students didn't live up to their expectations. If the students don't do as well as they want, the fault is actually theirs as the instructors. They failed, not the students. Super inspiring video!!

That isn't a one inch thick board. I'm actually a black belt in karate and it hurts me watching this because anyone over the age of 2 without any fighting experience, could literally flick that board and it would break.

A cool fighting montage of everyone else, then a final fight of Joel and cesar would've been way better. Who agrees?

‘Success comes from within’ I appreciated this saying through this story. Being modest is one of the most important elements in learning martial arts.
