I can remember the first time we went to the Riu negril in 2018 the Riu palace was being renovated and taking to the guard through the fence I have sum pictures of it then we are going back to the riu Negril in April before in two gets an upgrade at the end of the year

There is a RIU Palace Montego Bay, and the RIU Palace Tropical Bay. The Tropical Bay location in Negril allows kids everywhere but the pool bar.

I'm trying to decide between this resort and riu ocho rios! Have you been to ROR and if so, how do they compare?

Great video, thinking about taking a quick vacation at this RIU. How was the traffic in the water? You mentioned kayaking out....how far out can you go? can you go anywhere? I'm surprised that you mentioned the food being good. I was under the impression the RIU chain didnt have very good food. Also, how far from the beach can you go to snorkel?

We've stayed at 4 RIU in Mexico 🇲🇽 and had no problem with the food or drinks.

The hotel is located at the very end of several mile Beach so there’s not much traffic at all. You can swim out fairly far without anyone saying anything.

Yes! There is free alcohol in the rooms which is great. knowing you don’t have to pay for everything you touch.

In your opinion, would you choose this over RIU Negril? Why or Why not? TIA

I have been to both. The RIU Negril is undergoing a facelift from August thru November of '24, so it depends on the time of your vacation. The beach is far better at the Tropical Palace. I kinda liked the grounds at the RIU Negril a bit more... If you are bringing kids, I would say the RIU Negril over the Palace.

Honestly, although it’s rated to be a better hotel, I found any difference between the two to be negligible.

Yes, there are dedicated smoking areas that have good seating, and good views.

Grounds are stunning however it appears there is absolutely nothing to do for children?

If you have very young kids, there is a small pool area and play area for them. However, teenagers may be bored after a few days. One of the downsides of the resort is that they don’t offer you a lot of alternatives in the event of bad weather.
