June 2016 saw the much anticipated return of guitar legend Richie Blackmore to his rock roots with three shows in Europe. The first two shows in Loreley and Bietigheim Germany were captured on camera and the result is Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow - Monsters in Rock.
Showcasing tracks from his Deep Purple and Rainbow catalogue Ritchie reinvents classics like Highway Star, Man on the Silver Mountain, Mistreated, Spotlight Kid, Black Night and Stargazer, closing the show with the timeless Smoke on The Water.

...he's back! Tanned and well rested. To see him interact with the crowd and relaxed is a good thing. What everyone expect? Blackmore from 30 years ago? He's back and playing....leave it at that!

Wow this is literally the definition of Toned Down. come on man this is one of the greatest rock songs ever written and you play like it belongs on a soft rock station or playlist.

cant thank richie enough for this. pretty awesome!
I want this blu-ray now! Amazing venue. Ritchie Blackmore is God!
Ritchie using his Blackmore's Night lineup. Not bad for a guy in his 70's who's been jamming all these years. Nothing beats the "Rainbow Ring" lineup, but there's youth listing to what we jammed to back in the 70's. Long Live Rock and Roll, the best way possible.

People have been complaining about the sound quality. I downloaded this clip and examined audio in Adobe Audition. I found that video uploader had reduced max level to -12 dB. This is not yet catastrophic if you have powerful enough speakers to compensate loss of decibels. Frequency analyzer is quite healthy - there is enough bass and other freqs as well. Lack of energy is due to overcompression. Mixing/mastering engineer of this audio clip has tried to achieve "modern" sound by compressing it too much. First victim is the snare drum; if its transient can't get thru, it will sound weak. And so it does. There are other issues in the mix, too, but also the performance is not as good as it could. Drummer is a bit lazy. He does not command the drumkit but plays it like in a small wedding party for the elders. Overall, sound sources for the microphones are too 'safe' and middle-of-the road. Summary: bad mix ruins average performance.

Those mixes trying to computerize everything to make it sound "perfect" and modern are a real sin and cancer for the music
This sounds fantastic. Can't you hear that ? Blackmore bring back the original version from 1984. Ritchie's rythm playing is genius. Only two strings. Blackmore trademark.

Blackmore ...from here to eternity !!!
All the people hating how slow and mild it is compared to the old days, keep in mind he's 72. I mean, I can't expect him to be jumping around and going ape shit like he did in the 70s and 80s, he's old now. Give the man a break. Ritchie is and always will be GOD

Though rythm section sucks-here I agree with you( But please don't touch Ritchie, he's a Saint!))
This might be the best lineup ever of Candice Night's Rainbow. But not any of the older lineups. Better than Dio? You're out of your f'in mind.

The Battle Rages On é datado, não sobreviveu nem dez anos.
