We were SO set to see Jeff and Tommy when they got to the west coast. So sad...still.

Being a huge fan of this song I'm so happy to find one more version!

Tommy is my favorite ever! Touch more than Jimi and Jeff. His 2 albums were just so diverse, and the mix and sound quality is phenomenal.

I saw Tommy Bolin twice, at Winterland in Frisco.... I'd been following him since his days with Zephyr, he was unmatched... the performance at Winterland was EPIC and it wasn't very long after that is when we heard on a FM station that he'd passed away.....cried like a damn baby.... damn I miss this guy,what an impact he was having....RIP Tommy

Come Taste the Band is a criminally underrated album. I love it.

I don't know what world you live on but come taste the band is a Deep Purple album in my opinion one of their best because Tommy bolin was amazing. Deep Purple is always been one of my favorite bands. I do like the new guitarist

Come Taste the Band is amazing, I love this album, my favorites are Lady Luck and Gettin' Tighter, but Tommy was a fish out of water in Deep Purple. He could play great solos, but Richie's riffs are completely of another level. You couldn't expect Tommy to make riffs like Smoke on The Water, Burn (which was difficult for him to play), Kill the King or anything like that. I think Tommy would be great joining Coverdale in the early days of Whitesnake, much more blues oriented and less riff dependent stuff, though. Also, Purple demanded a lot of energy and compromise, you have to deal with management, there's booze, drugs, egos, large travels, large audiences, equipment etc, this could mess with anyone's head. On an album like Spectrum or the one with Alphonse Mouzon, you record your part, make your fills, clear, it's done. James Gang was short period. Deep Purple was a live act, it was huge. Things that happened made clear that Tommy wasn't emotionally and physically prepared, sadly for all. May God keep him in a good place

So sad that the drugs took over such an incredible talent. Imagine what he'd be producing today, if only...

Bolin's ability to play originally by ear across all genres and styles is testament to his God given genius as opposed to alleged virtuosos who must practice 24/7 to imitate others.

Tommy had his influences and I bet he practiced as hard or harder than players reading music. A lot of sweat and tears went into Tommy’s playing for sure. Gone way to soon.

Tommy would stay up all night until he mastered the sound he was after ! Johnnie would sometimes check on him in his bedroom & Tommy had fallen asleep w/ his guitar !

Saw him with Deep Purple at Radio City in NY

the mk4 line up of deep purple was a drug fueled disaster according to an interview i read of jon lord. mostly between TB and GH. I really came to appreciate TB years later in my life. not a big fan of his DP work..but love teaser and private eyes

Might have worked had it not been for the drugs.But unfortunately by that time it had become the Hughes and Coverdale band.

If tommy was murdered them it most likely was because of Ritchie lol. He is and was into crazy occult activities 😂

Life on the road is hard, especially being a front man. He just did a little too much. Then afterwards the people who were supposed to look after him did too little, worried about bad publicity. So frustrating

Why would Ritchie do a thing like that? Ritchie wanted to leave the band and he only had positive words to say about Tommy. Yes, Ritchie did/does occult stuff but why would he have Tommy murdered? Mean thing to suggest! 👎

I prefer Ritchie over Tommy but I don't feel I have to say anything negative about Tommy... I think they both are/were very talented but completely different styles and personalities. I think it was good that Deep Purple didn't want to substitute Ritchie with a Ritchie-clone. Same thing when Steve Morse entered the band; very talented but completely different than both Ritchie and Tommy.
