Just recently found ur channel and enjoying your vids ... Just wanted to politely add some insight ... I have been a hobbyist horologist for 10 yrs or so and started restoring/servicing and flipping watches 5-6 years ago, only doing so full time the last 3 yrs when it overtook my 'normal' job income. I'm really happy to see a younger guy doing his thing and making a living off the watch market which theyre also passionate about. Ive not seen all your vids but have gathered u started full time a year or two ago and I'd just like to highlight how important due diligence and security is, especially as a solo 'backpack' dealer, which is also what I do. I have an arrangement with 2 local jewelers to use their storefront for meeting clients and making sales. I'm then able to have a secure environment, counter where I can properly pull the case and inspect all watch components under a loop. Just soooo many shiesty ppl these days who will seek out newer dealers to pull a fast one.. I've seen hi quality 'super clone' Daytona case used with a geniune movement and bracelet being used ... A jeweler had their sales guy buy this for a good deal given current market value but once owner inspected and realized it was not geniune, no recourse and big L. I would suggest using a co work space where you can pay a small monthly rent, but have a static place to do business, list of pros is long versus sales in a park etc ... Wish you all the best and hope you look into work space, through d and d and security measures - toward a long term and profitable business!

@@jayangli I doubt you'll get straight up answers with direct sources from anyone else who makes a living as a watch dealer ... But I will say that there are a few bigger private forums/groups online and WhatsApp groups which are usually off shoots from those forums and groups online ... These are full of grey market dealers from all over the world and list stock for sale at wholesale pricing. They exist for dealers who are vetted to buy and sell from peers at wholesale pricing, helping each other to make retail deals where the money is made ... These groups aren't easy to get access to without an existing member or two vouching for you. It took me several years of networking to get into the main ones amd offshoots ... Now these private dealer chats are my main source of buying, with buying from online estate auctions and wholesale brick and mortar places as secondary source. I don't know this guy's horology bench knowledge or skill set but personally, dealer 2 dealer sales have element of trust .. anytime buying from public or unknown source, I'd have to inspect it first, including opening the case to check movement, time graphing, looping case bracelet for wear and stamping etc ... Before I hand over a penny. Have you seen this guy dismantle and inspect a movement before buying or selling? I haven't seen enough to know

I actually worry about this young man, one of these days he may get jumped for his backpack. God forbid it happens as I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. He keeps saying I don’t have anything on me but he is constantly on a train dropping off or picking up a watch. He is leading a very dangerous life. I keep hearing this entry level being mentioned all the time does come across as pure watch snobbery so a datejust is entry level which means you’ve only got your foot in the door 🤷‍♂️ does it mean if you spend a certain amount say over fifteen to twenty grand you enter the world of a proper Rolex owner 🤷‍♂️ just not having it,there is no entry level Rolex in fact there is no watch that is entry level full stop 🤷‍♂️ Just to add I do enjoy your videos I just felt the term entry level had to be addressed which is used by not just yourself but a lot of watch dealers 👍
