Музыка

Check out a clip from our interview with David Frangioni, talking about the extraordinary travel commitment he made taking drum lessons with the legendary Joe Morello, and how it almost ended badly once. David also talks about how The Global Ambassador of Drumming, Dom Famularo is continuing the tradition of teaching drums in the style of Joe Morello, Buddy Rich, Jim Chapin, and many other drumming greats. If you want to take lessons with Dom, visit www.domfamularo.com/

I used to fly from NJ to Vermont for $19 on Peoples Express. I met Joe Morello a couple of times and regret never taking a lesson with him.

I remember Peoples Express I worked for Southwest at Houston Hobby and we worked their flights to Newark NJ, old 727’s. Now as for Joe Morello I would have flown all the way from Houston just to have a cup of coffee with him.

I saw Buddy Rich at his club in NY and Joe was there. I went up and said Mr. Morello can I have your autograph...I had only a match book! He signed it! I learned jazz drumming starting with listening to Brubeck.

I've only heard how great a gentleman Joe was. Buddy Rich on the other hand, if he even granted an autograph, would probably charge you for it and then call you a nasty name. I always felt that Joe "played" the drums like he loved them and Buddy "attacked" them like he hated them.

John Bonham usually played Moby Dick 2nd to last song which was usually Stairway which made it all the more unbelievable that he could still play a solo like that after playing for sometimes two and a half hrs.
