the way you freezed mithrix in air in his 2 stage so he just dies cuz of fall damage is impressive

yeah i was really glad it worked, those walls are terrifying and i really didn't want to sit through another round of them

Holy shit, I never thought I'd see the day where we finally have a no items E8 run thats *actually* possible and fun. I gotta give this a try sometime, seems like a real good test of game knowledge and Railgunner.

yeah, railgunner is just so strong. i’ve also been trying this with reasonable success, kinda hard to get a consistent time with certain spawns, etc, but it’s really cool to see someone else attempt it dry as well- with no artifacts, no items it really does feel like a test of skill, patience, and dedication appreciate the inspiration and enjoyed the run/your insights, peace out and have fun! EDIT : now do it with artifact of honor

thank you. yeah, railgunner is the strongest character in my opinion with loader as a close 2nd. i've seen some people say railgunner is bad though which confuses me a bit. you can't use artifacts in eclipse without mods, but i did mod the game once and beat eclipse 8 with all artifacts which was pretty fun

@@4evr0dd it's actually not that much different than regular monsoon with all artifacts. i wanted to make a video on it but dagger carried the run a bit too hard so i want to do it without red/lunar items someday

it's pretty fun, but it's easy to lose motivation when you get walled by stage 4 on repeat. dealing with eclipse 8 larva really isn't fun

that was probably the most astonishing ror2 run I've ever seen. your level of skill and dedication is amazing. well done. edit: forget that "probably" It IS the most astonishing run I've ever seen.

Ive come back and watch this run like 3 times now, something about it is just so mesmerizing

One impressive thing is that it took until stage 5 for enemy leveling to catch up.

NOT IMPRESSED! You missed so many easy shots... (being nervous isn't an excuse!) I've tried to do this with acrid before, but i've been unable to pull-off the pillar skip with him and charging pillars (especially pillars of soul) seems impossible due to low damage and the chimera fire covering the whole damn radius. I didn't know someone else had beaten me to it with acrid, although if the run you mention is HK BLAUs then that's on old commencement without the pillars. April fools, this is impressive- good job. You've almost motivated me to spend hours hopping around on that damn tree again. Almost.

all jokes aside i did miss a ton of easy shots though. nerves were to blame for a lot of them but i also had to close everything except OBS so that i get as many frames as possible, which is why i have ingame music on (i usually split audio channels and listen to music / watch a stream while playing). and yes that is the run i'm talking about. as far as i know it's the only eclipse 8 clear video without items? i tried looking around and couldn't find anyone else who had recorded it. i don't know much about acrid and pillar skipping but this railgunner skip is very precise

@@Cabbage123 ICap_l made a video showing acrid pillar skip is possible with 2 hooves and i've heard claims that its possible without items, but never seen it done. The ONE time i made it i got boosted by chimera bullets, and that was while testing on drizzle with armour plates. HK BLAU and you are the only ones to have done it with proof as far as I know... GG.

ive actually been trying to do this run recently, but not eclipse 8. Ive been trying out REX, hes pretty good in this challenge. Im doing monsoon difficulty too, probably wont get to mithrix BUT ill try and get to ATLEAST stage 3.

Man, this was fun to watch. Especially that pillar skip and the Mithrix fight. Railgunner is the only survivor I’ve had a real struggle with. Do you have any tips? I play on Monsoon and have been fooling with Eclipse modifiers through mods. I always get overwhelmed with crowds and can’t get past stage 1 or 2. Really awesome video, congrats on the win. 👍

Just get better Almost every tip has been covered by youtubers so Just search around, that’s what I did 120 hours in and I almost beat monsoon with eclipse and diluvian modifiers

what helped me the most is learning mobility with mine + special ability and understanding how recoil works with m1. for crowds you can try lining them up and using the special ability to aoe them

@@Cabbage123 Thanks for that. I’ve been playing Railgunner a bit more and really utilizing her mobility, especially with her special and M1 like you described. I’m definitely liking the alt special for that same reasoning, torn on which secondary I like more. May get used to the alt secondary. Thanks again for your input. Again, cool video. 👍

does Mithrix's wedge/spin attack like at 22:45 not hit you when you stand on top of the 4 ramps? I've been told that it does hit but I've seen in another video where it looks like it doesn't actually hit you. Can't really tell from this one either, if anyone knows and can clarify I'd appreciate it

i've played a couple fps games in the past, but it's much easier to hit AI moving in a straight line than it is to hit actual players. the hitboxes are also very forgiving

@@Cabbage123 nah it would be torture and nearly impossible, It would take forever to kill it just cause of its sheer amount of health, usually by the time you get to it after fighting mithrix it has more health in just his first phase than mithrix does in all 4 phases

this is the alt special which has less damage but it freezes and you can use your other abilities immediately after using it

Didn't think this was possible, nice job! I thought for sure those first two walls at 22:45 were gonna hit you. Love how phase 3 was killed via fall damage. Also love whatever this fella at 25:29 is doing. So because of the bonus movement speed from eclipse 4, Mithrix will always launch himself over you when he runs up the ramp? You're safe to just stand on the platform and let him run at you?

no you're not safe. if you're positioned in the wrong way he can swing at you while running over or dash at you if you're too close. the strat i use of running away and then towards him at a certain time works well though

is there a reason you flick the camera abruptly during mithrix?

when i look up and back down, it's to see mithrix through walls since you get a red dot boss indicator if you're looking away from a boss. i use it to get an idea of where mithrix is / which direction he's running

well the teleporter items would help a lot. and this run was pretty lucky with which bosses i got. but it's definitely easier to not full clear stages as railgunner

@@Cabbage123 i did notice that in my railgunner eclipse climb, fretting over every single item wasn't as important as it is with many other characters and to an extent made it easier to tolerate the full climb because doing 8 full runs can be pain

That happens past eclipse 7. His cooldowns are low enough for him to spam certain abilities.

@@Cabbage123 I believe the seven items is all E8 modifiers EXCEPT fall damage is double and lethal, they would have just turned the artifact on and hidden it. also the acrid e8 no items can't really be used to compare since it's an older version of the game.

With aim that good you could hit a snipe.

I came here to see how to skip pillars, thank you master. EDIT: How do you detonate a mine mid-air? EDIT 2: I figured it out. EDIT 3: I completed the challenge! it was on drizzle tho, and I use the alternative M2.

that's not really how a script works, i would fail 0% of the time unless i wrote the script bad on purpose, i just have muscle memory for reloading with no attack speed items since i've done it so much
