Shagaru maintaining offensive presence even while transforming is an excellent display of cunning. Always good to cover your downtime.

I thought Risen Valstrax showed me pain, then Shagaru broke every bone in my body… I love him just as much.

A couple things. Yes, you can have 4 wirebugs at once with the skill, and once again, like other Magala sets, the name is different depending on gender, so female hunters get 'Prudence' instead of 'Virtue'

Oh, that's cool! Do you know if the new rampage skill that increases the time extra wirebug is active by 30 sec (I think) work on the one from Frenzied Bloodlust?

Risen Shagaru must be terrifying since he’s after risen Valstrax but on a side note, considering that the bonus update will be adding the last monster to Sunbreak (Malzeno Variant), does this draw possibly to the fact that Velkhana can’t be risen? Thinking about it, she does turf with Malzeno while none of the other elders do and all of them happen to be risen, while Velkhana is seen holding her own against Malzeno and his qurios. It’s just something that has come to mind when I watched the trailer.

I'll posit that Velkhana can't be infected by the Qurio... just because it's too damn cold. The Qurio are better adapted to heat, and even our ice monsters need to keep stable body heat going. Velkhana doesn't seem to follow that rule, especially since it basically _sweats insta-freeze._

Yeah, the Qurio are basically leeches, and Velkhana is cold personified. I don't think drinking what basically amounts to liquid nitrogen would go too well for the little buggers

its also likely there was just one velkhana to arrive, and the others havent made it to afflicted areas yet because of how rare they are in lore

If anyone wants to know the fresh hell Shagaru will put us through, I had him go into his “Risen” state SIX TIMES and was left fleeing desperately to heal without getting smacked dead as he ruthlessly laid into me. I think my highest dodge roll count was almost 9 back to back before he finally stopped to let me breathe. And then the beam pulped me into a wall.

Shagaru got bitten by qurios once znd decided he'd remind everyone why he was mistaken for a mountain god of reincarnation back in Cathar.

I also learned that even if you have Max Guard, Guard Up and Embolden on Lance you cannot guard Shagaru's super frenzy explosion but you do have enough time if you sheath instantly to get out of the blast radius.

Can confirm you get a 4th and works incredibly well with Amatsu weapons since they get the extra silkbind damage.

If you are having trouble, one small thing to keep in mind is armor got new upgrade levels. Seems about 8ish. Some extra defense to reclaim from qurio augmenting.

All I can say is thank goodness for Intrepid Heart because WOOOOOF, does the last of the Risen Elder Dragons not disappoint. It hits like a truck AND has Chaotic Gore's Frenzy acceleration mechanic (speeding up the virus's incubation time) but gives very fair tells and openings at the same time. I'd say Risen CGV is harder, but Risen Shagaru was still truly intense, dealing lots of damage even with attacks that didn't cause knockback, and had me on the ropes at several points during my battle with it last night.

I seems that the new shagaru armor skill will work well with amatsu weapons.

oh my god risen shagaru is the most fun ive ever had in a monster that was such an enjoyable fight. Hes so fast, he really tests your reflexes with the mines too that was great.

The explosion of the circling pillars seems to be the nova of chaotic gore. Nice to see more crossover. And with this we have officially Four Gore

I despised this thing's hit boxes. The grab felt more janky and comes out faster and most of the shockwaves were flashier and more misty so it was harder to tell where some of the attacks were hitting. I had more problems with this things than i've had with any of the title updates that Rise has come out with so far (it was blue and almost dead on my first attempt and I then proceed to triple cart 3 more times). Edit: also I swear the pillar move autostuns you if you run into a pillar closing in regardless of how many times you were hit before it

Now they need to add a quadruple wire bug attack to every weapon.

I normally run an excessively defensive Lancer set solo whenever they add a new Risen variant, just to check damage output and do some research on what is better to block or avoid... Normally that set can stand up to most anything Risen, and not even Risen Valstrax could one hit it (excluding the unblockable Ambush that Risen has)... Shagaru? Consistently OTK's it, and that's without unblockable attacks... sure, I CAN block most of these, but it's like Spider Sense... I CAN block them, but that doesn't mean I get the time to... Shagaru is extremely aggressive in a solo fight, to the point that I was battling my stamina moreso than the monster at several points... my best advice is to bring a way to break aggro with it, whether it's the buddies or hunters... solo = punching bag simulator.

I recently got an attack boost 3, weakens exploit 2, 1 2 slot talisman, and here comes double wed on the armor to make my god roll less efficient LOL

They really dropped the ball with frenzied bloodlust, but at least you can use it as fodder for the crafting rolls.

My full risen kushala daora armor set makes him rather easy 😂 especially when you have both recovery speed and recovery up maxed and eaten a fish I barely suffer damage for long

Probably my favorite fight overall. Punishing but fair, with plenty of openings to where you don’t feel like you’re running or dodging the whole fight. The ultimate move is so cool.

Well none of these new sets are better than my current setup and neither of them are even close to Meta. I will be ignoring these armor pieces and just fighting for the challenge. Looking forward to getting all the new decorations though, and the Amatsu Great Sword might be worth using if it can still surpass the Magnamalo Great Sword despite having -25% affinity. I doubt it very much! Can't wait to challenge Special Investigations.

I really hate Furious Rajang to hunt in this game because of how annoyingly nimble it is Now this one takes over that.

So if it offers a 4th wirebug and you couple it with Amatsu weapons for increased wirebug skill damage it could be quite interesting- however gear wise it's not even close to Fatalis from Iceborne. All hope on Malzeno now, to become the true endgame Monster of Sunbreak

I think it’s better if it’s not fatalis level, the absurdity of fatalis armour in world sort of took away from endgame build variety

Dude, I just fought him, and it took me 2 tries to beat him, the 1st time i los- no lost is an understatment, I GOT CURBSTOMPED, but the 2nd fight i beat him with no faints and done in under 15 min! in short, THE haredest fight in Sunbreak in my opinion!

An extra wire bug -_-. Ther seems like such a let down for this monster. I might be wrong but that seems very anticlimactic to me 😅

imo the armor is pretty disappointing this update like yeah we got good pieces but nothing shaking up the meta at best you will change 2 pieces of ur set

I'm gonna be perfectly honest here, Hollow. Risen Shagaru's special skill is... Seriously disappointing. An extra bug? That disappears almost instantly upon sheathing? Why???

Risen Shagura and Risen Valtrax are perhaps the worst/annoying fights I have ever encountered in my long time playing MH. They aren't fun. One deals death with just the lightest of taps the other is the most prolific AoE spammer that isn't in Frontier. Risen Kushala, Teostra and Chameleos are fun to fight. They feel good and like a natural progression of a buffed version of themselves, but I do understand Risen Teostra is the bane of melee users. But the other two... they are not difficult, they are just annoying to fight and feel cheap.

This is the worst fight I've ever experienced in a monster hunter game ...it puts the dick in ridiculous seriously,way TOOOOOO over powered for junk skills and a horrendous looking armor set,that for the first time I won't aquire

I’ve lost the will to play this game. Quit at Anomaly Rank 190 from severe burnout. Now they raise cap all the way to 300 & both new monsters equipment is uninteresting. Was gonna at least slay Amatsu but honestly what’s the point?

Hope it gets nerfed way to hard he can combo and knock u down then hit you again before you can even get up.

This is a decent fight. Sadly the 3 times I fought her she doesn’t do the ultimate as she dies before or she is stun lock with the trip and with the horn break. So in order to enjoy the “difficult” part of this fight you have to do average or low damage otherwise she just dies before she gets interesting 🥲
