Origa is singing here. Her voice is unmistakable in my opinion. Yoko Kanno composed the OST for GITS and she has sang in the past under the alias Gabriela Robin.

Got damn it .. the tears ... Song just runs right through me. Everything from her voice to the drums just hit perfectly.

RIP, Origa. We will miss your amazing voice forever. You are the only and best singer of the Ghost in the shell. I can't think of the movie of it without your song. Your voice was completely integrated with the world of the Ghost in the Shell. 若すぎる死に惜しんでも惜しみ切れません。攻殻機動隊の映画にもあの美しい歌声を披露してくれるかと思っていたのに…そう思うほどOrigaの歌声と作品の世界観が完璧に融合していました。ありがとうOriga。

As far as I remenber, she wasn't popular in Russia to any extent and I never heard about her live performance here. You may not know, but there's the specific negative attitude to the anime and anything anime-related among the noticable amount of people in Russia (while the number of anime fans grows fastly as well). After all, the fact is that she was the vocal goddess. R.I.P., Olga.

鋭くエッジの効いたスタイリッシュさと、宵闇の深い底を走り抜けてゆくような心地よい疾走感。特に、サビの追い立てられる様に加速していく感じと滲む焦燥に胸が毳立つ。堪らない。まるで仄暗く濁りざらついた未来が耳元から見えるよう。ただひたすらにカッコイイ。 あと、riseのカッコ良さは言うに及ばずだが、PVのアニメがこれまた痺れるくらい堪んない。全てのカットが捨て無しで、大人の渋さと色気にヤられる。制作陣の半分くらい頭のネジが飛んでないと、これだけのものは作れないんじゃないかな。もし、全員がまともな状態でこれを作ったんだとしたら、それはそれで異常。

I absolutely love this song, it's one of my favorite opening themes! It completely blew me away when I first watched Ghost in the Shell back in 2010/2011 and it's never failed to get me pumped up since!!!

I've just met her at a nearby convention in germany. Got her autograph, very nice! :)

It's clear that the main reason she left her homeland where she previously peacefully lived in a quiet provincial area was that it was economically devastated by another revolution and the mafia was ruling on the ruins. The second fckng revolution in less than 3/4 of a century. The revolution is definitely not the very best thing the nations on the Earth need. Maybe, cultural revolution, revolution in minds, but not that bolshevik-style 'eat the class_name!' (Which is then someday as ironically as inevitably applied to the bolsheviks themselves). I'm sure, Olga never wanted any nation on the Earth to face the revolution such as her homeland faced in 1917 nor 1991. Just think about this.

Thank you for the translation of the lyrics. I love this song, still listening to it after all these years. Knowing the words make is more meaningful.

As a soldier having taken part in a Ukrainian war, i must say this song is incredible in representing the struggle many soldiers face. I can't stop tears, especially knowing Origa is not with us anymore. How far they managed to grasp the meaning back in the days - and it never changes

It's so sad to see this news. I really loved her voice, and unlike most music nowadays, I think she made real music I could listen to even years after I first listened to it. I hope she's in a better place. Rest in peace, Origa. You were and are still amazing.

I deeply love this opening. It`s so unfortunate to hear that this wonderful talented artist passed away. Rest in Peace. So sorry I didn`t hear about this sooner. I only just found this out recently via the comments and I`m still shocked over the fact that Monty Oum also died this year recently as well.

Sadly they didn't. Hollywood at it's finest showing not the slightest respect.

+Sarah Melchior Thing is that the same treatment on two patients with the same type of cancer will affect them two different ways. And cancer isn't just one disease it's literally hundreds... 'cancer' is just an umbrella term much like 'truck' covers many kinds of vehicles.

Dont really watch anime much but I know good music when I hear it. It only fuels the fire I have for music when I see so many people paying respect to , at least at first in MY mind, was an obscure artist. Much respect for all of the respect you people have. Origa was one of my favorite singers out there. She had such a pretty voice. I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of her death. RIP.
