I'm exhausted by all the people crapping on this game.. its obviously subjective and its ok if a game isnt for you, but its become a common thing these days for people to watch YT videos of games, then cast judgment and crap on it.. without ever playing it. This game is so good, I'm happily playing through this and DD2 simultaneously, alternating every day. Every open world game has its problems and quirks, Dragon's Dogma 2, as fantastic as it is, has MANY flaws and no one is really crapping on that (but they'll freak out over the unobtrusive microtransactions that aren't even pay to win) Aside from this game's cumbersome loot system and slightly dated graphics, it's still very very good for any fan of Team Ninja game's.

Yeah dd2 mechanic of and regular attack knocking you down and taking a whole 2 min to get up isn't even being spoken of it is the worst mechanic I've ever dealt with in a game and about walked away from it due to that I love the game but it has some real issues and I'm actually really good at the combat but it doesent matter when you fight 15 enimies at once every ten foot dd2 is incredible so is rotr I agree that ppl aren't addressing dd2 issues and are hatting on this tbh idk witch game is better they are both thier own thing you don't have to hate 1 game because you like another that was released at the same time that's ridiculous I don't have any thing bad to say about this game idc about graphics so but tbh these graphics are nowhere as bad as ppl say not at all are they really good no but they are good enough with a good framerate that goes a long way to make the game look better ppl just want to agree with everyone and are scared to think for themselves I guess

@@Brendangotgudgaming rise of ronin is the same. They rely on hyper armor to make combat challenging. The fact that every single enemy can simply walk through your attacks is lazy mechanics. Just like DD2 where every attack staggers you, or you get knocked down for three weeks before you can get up. Rise does this with hyper armor. You start your attack string and I’m the middle the enemy can pull off a martial attack that. And when you increase the difficulty all that happens os enemy defense goes through the roof, and your damage nose dives. Really lazy combat mechanics.

​@PeopleRTheProblem At least in DD2 you can increase your knockdown resistance to increase your poise. I'm not aware of anything similar that you can do in RotR, you just have to block, dodge or counterspark all enemy attacks while they happily combo you, but then hyper-armour through your attacks. It's annoying, and it's a shame as I otherwise enjoy the game and the combat.

Little tip that I haven’t seen anyone mention, you can transmog your armor and weapons so you don’t have to walk around looking goofy just to keep the best possible stats.

@@PeopleRTheProblem I wouldn't say this game isn't as good as Ghost of Tsushima. I've never really understood the comparison. But it depends on what you prioritize in games. If you like fulfilling and deep combat, this game is absolutely worth playing. But you would really need to try it for yourself to form your own opinion. I think the reviews of this game gave it a bad rap.

For those who Don't know you can wipe the blood off with a bit more style without using blade flash by holding both R1+R3

You can hold R3 while sheathe to clean your sword

In fact, Rise of the ronin is such a great and enjoyable game.

Tip #6, about exploding barrels to open some closed rooms, shooting the barrels with a rifle blows them up. You don't need the fire pipe for this.

Red barrels can be shot and exploded with your rifle. You do not need the fire pipe. Also you can unlock the glider WAAAAAYYYY before you’re introduced to it in mission. I found mine in a chest super early on in the game. All of these “essential tips” you learn while playing the game. Even early on.

It's like this- If you liked Tenchu, Ghost of Tsushima, Nioh, the Ninja Gaiden Series, and Dead or Alive, you'll love this game. Like he says in the video, you can tweak the graphics to make them look pretty awesome. As far as the Ghost comparisons...there are parts that look and feel a lot like it, which isn't a bad thing. I am surprised that nobody is talking about the fact that Ghost and this game are both Sony Studios games- I wouldn't be surprised if the teams on both games helped develop on both titles and shared some technology. The combat, character customization, "dress up stuff", and the plot to this game are way more complex than Ghost. The game also surprises you several times with switches from open world Ghost type missions to claustrophobic missions in burning temples, rainy torture chamber prisons, etc. It in effect switches gear storywise from a seemingly Samurai vs The West Story to a gorey tale of ninjas and murder, than back to espionage and war. It's really f'in wild, and really fun. If you have even an inkling that you may want this game- you do. You really do. It's awesome.

I think I'm late but at 11:46 its possible to get to that cat early on you just have to go around to the court yard like area of that building and grapple up to the roof there's also a chest open on the roof of the building before climb to the cat

Don't know if it was mentioned, but I got the glider before encountering the inventor by coming across the boss fight with Gonzo just exploring! I let him live, and he gave me the key to the shed, which unlocked the glider.

So glad you can turn all the numbers, and healthbar crap off.

According to Digital Foundry the game actually stuck closer to 60fps in the RT mode than it did in Performance - which makes no sense, but it's worth knowing.

all the hate I love the games far on balanced, The cut scenes are awesome and loving the more realistic feel over got.

I didnt get my glider from the inventor i got it from a mission before i even started the main missions. I was level 15 before i met him.

21 is wrong too, not only are you just missing the glider but you can get there without it. Just go around the building. There's like 5 grapple points to get up on the roof.

I want to thank you. I thought the game was just ok. But after I followed your settings, the sounds and gameplay are so much better. It's actually a very good game now. The default audio was horrible.

I killed that group of enemies all with quick assassination kills I thought it had a limit but it just kept going I was like GODDAMN LET EM GET UP LET EM GET UP

I shot the explosive barrel with a gun and it blew up before I unlocked the flame thrower

This game is a ton of fun and definitely better than most reviewers have said. If it had mind blowing graphics I bet it would have scored way higher.

When you unlock the longhouse you get the option there to change cloths appearance or redecorate your house

For the Red Barrel towards the end. Just shoot it with a rifle and itll explode

sick of the inventory always being full and my items not just replenishing from the inventory to storage whenever i hit a veiled edge

i got the glider by killing the bandit/rebel boss. He said he had a key to the supply house if i let him live but i thought well ill probably get that if i execute him anyway 🤷‍♂️😂 so i executed him gave a paper to cross to my buddy went to that storage room got the glider and sailed on over 😂🤣

I got the glider from hunting down a different character, not from the inventor.

the elixir thing is just plain wrong. The normal ones get refilled or do they not? Why use crafted once except to down that last enemy. LIke as a last resort. Makes no sense to me.

We've needed another game like this since Ghost of Tsushima.

You can just shoot the barrel with a rifle.. you don't need the flamethrower and it's way faster. You had maybe 3 actual tips in this video but realistically mostly just your personal preferences. Most of your "tips" you simply learn from playing the game.

I hear what you are saying and partially agree. The counter argument would be you don’t have to watch it if you want to figure it out yourself. With that said I do agree it’s more fun to find out on your own. Different game mechanics are good to know ahead of time so you don’t make mistakes though and waste materials or whatever.

Eh the game is NOT gorgeous..its a ps4 open world Nioh. I really like the gameplay its far better than dd2. But its clear we need more games in this japanese genre. Roll on GOT2 and getting PS games on PC from day 1.

This was probably in the tutorials but they were so extremely annoying that they just pissed me off. Infuriating in an otherwise good game.
