25 years, im 29 & playing since 4.used to hate violin, didn't really pracitice alot until high school, got pretty good & went to college for it, midway through my music degree got asked to be in a band, I never looked back. last year a dubstep dj asked me to jam for a show, got a huge response from the crowd. along with a dj named 'gunner geron' we opened for the wailers, porter robinson, and bassnectar..3 months back started making youtubes to capture wat was happening live & here we are :)

I wish you hadn’t said this. It diminishes your music and your art and you as an artist as well as the people who learn from you. This is classic if you didn’t know already. And it’s one I teach my 5 granddaughters. So don’t be so cavalier. A true fan, Dee.

I LOVE this guy and his talent, and it literally blows me away this guy hasn't been played more and lost his roots like most artists now-a-days..... as opposed to computer generated talent this guy has ACTUAL musical talent, which sadly is rare in the music business now...The fact that this guy is EXTREMELY talented, stays true to MUSIC, and is still here responding to us crazy people blows my mind. If you read this, much respect dude, you are amazing and I hope you continue to pursue this amazing ability of yours.

literally every song I have ever know pretty much grows old and overplayed with time, this remix/version of this song NEVER grows old. I could listen to it all day, and it will always blow my mind how we play more of Katy Perry (song and voice is completely altered by computer making the "artist" really not that necessary) than someone like Patrick's music, which takes actual skill, time and talent. You take anyone off the street, add the right sound effects and boom you get Katy Perry, but only a select few people are talented on a instrument to this extreme and actually are the ones for making ,music enjoyable, not some computer, I would love to shake Patrick Conteras hand and thank him for his love and dedication to music, a rarity now-a-days

i trained to be a classical soloist, but in college i got asked to play in a band. changed my whole direction. went solo eventually as 'patrick contreras & the american gypsy experience' a world music/rock/metal sound..played for 3 yrs. all over california. about a year ago i started uploading to youtube consistently.world star hip hop featured 3 of my vids in a row (including this one) & kickstarted me all over again. about my equipment, i use: fender violin/mesa boogie 2x12/dunlop cry baby
