In this video, we’ll show you how to:
✅Use an old broken screen as a jig/holder for the home button
✅How to scratch off the coating of the home button flex & expose the traces
✅How to run 4 jumpers to solve the rapid click issue
✅How to apply UV Mask
✅And more!
This repair process is the same for iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPhone 8 & 8 Plus. They all use virtually the same home button.
Also, these iPhones home buttons are paired to the motherboard, which means you cannot just replace them. So the home button flexes have to be repaired, to get full functionality like Touch ID and Home Button click.

You need to connect only 2 traces though (and it will perfectly work), the middle 2 ones, as there's only 2 lines inside an actual button. Outside 2 are just for flex reinforcement. It's better to restore all 4, but can be difficult if you don't have good soldering iron.

Hey I have a question: when I try to put solder onto the scratched out part of the flex it just refuses to hold on and behaves like oil does when you pour it in water… why is that and what could I do to fix it? (Btw I have scratched the cable down to the shiny copper and also put flux on it)

@@VCCBoardRepairs thanks jesse that helps a lot, i’m still a beginner learning to jump wires. I’ve been playing around 300-320c and it’s not sticking I thought either my tips are bad or maybe my coated wires are causing this lol will try higher temps :)
Can you help me figure out how to fix an htc bolt? Whenever I try to charge it (the charging port isn't broken, I don't think) when it's powered off, it tries to turn itself on but the it gets itself in a loop were the htc powering on screen shows the htc logo then turns off then goes back to the htc logo when it turns on then it goes back to turning off and it happens again and again until it starts overheating. I followed a video tutorial on replacing the battery myself, which I did Without a problem using the same brand of battery and I'm wondering if it's a component or chip or maybe it just overheats to quickly cause someone broke. Might you help please?

It looks like a damaged power button. Once I was repairing a Huawei that had a similar problem, it kept resetting and the customer said it was a battery and I should replace it. After removing the motherboard and starting the phone, it turned on without a problem. It turned out that the power button is always pressed. And if that doesn't help, the phone is probably bricked :/

@@marz.6102 remove motherboard and locate power button flex (it should be common with volume + and - buttons) then measure in diode mode if any of them is shorted to each other
How can this happen anyway?

actually i mention it in the video. sometimes when the screen breaks, the frame of the screen moves & that flex is screwed to the frame, so it rips
