Still the best combo. IOS6 is gorgeous and runs smoother on the 5. Only other option I think would be IOS9 jailbroken Iphone SE, with the IOS6 themes installed :-)

No, that's the one place not to do it. IOS9 is the most stable to jailbreak. Best to look at this channel for the install videos. Then Google "make iphone look like ios6" for some links. I haven't done it yet but might on the Iphone SE. So it will be like a super powered IOS6 Iphone 5 :-)

Yeah, its the best IOS look, hands down is 6. Apple hasn't really innovated much lately. Just removing features (headphone jack) and adding silly things. Iphone SE is the last great phone they will build (in my opinion).

I've always loved the pitch black version of this phone. Whenever the screen was off, it looked so elegant. You couldn't distinguish the edges of the screen when off and the glass looked like a continuous flow from top to bottom. I compared this one to the Space Gray version of the iPhone 5S, but somehow it doesn't feel the same.

The ios6 design was so much better... same with Mac, i loved that dock

Well 3GS and 4s was supported a year or two longer than their non "s" version. I mean if the iPhone 4 stops at ios 7 the 4s stops at ios 9, the 3G stopped at ios 4 the 3GS stopped at ios 6

Am I the only one who fucking hates the Skeumorphism in pre iOS 7 devices? Everything looks so over designed and ugly.

I've used the iPhone 5 for 4 years now and just 1 month ago I decided to pull the trigger and upgrade. The phone treated me well and it is one that I will most definitely hold on to forever. My reason to upgrade was the fact that I had no more storage, other than that I had little to no complains as to how the phone performed on a day to day basis. Hands down best iPhone ever

Ios10 uses more proccessing power thats why ios6 is technically faster. If we still had iOS 6 or 7 on a iphone 8 or 10 we would have amazing battery life that would probably last us days

It is slower but I doubt it's planned obsolescence, it's just slower because iOS 10 is a heavier OS and the iPhone 5's hardware is 5 years old

II TANFi3LD II Not letting you go back is planned obsolescence for me, I stayed on iOS 9.3 and jailbroke it, the best thing I could have ever done. My grandma's iPad 4th generation is laggy as hell with the latest update, usable but undesirable. The only thing Apple has nowadays is its own OS, everything else is shit compared to Android phones. I miss Steve

No, apple design their phones years early so he could of possible had input on the iPhone 5s before he died since he died when the 4 was out

It was interesting to do this with phones to the 5s. After, it’s not cool unless it’s a speedtest. Although i believe that removing skeuomorphism was a big misstep and should be reverted very soon, I think videos like this are very cool. I very much wish apple would allow us to use our original firmwares on our devices and all IPSW files would be signed. Unfortunate apple is strict though. I want an iphone 5 on ios 6 in slate, because it was the prefect phone in my opinion with that pair. I remember thinking “That thing’s huge!” thinking of one. When I saw one, I was hooked, but never had one. I hope I can do it someday, and I will try. 2012 was steve’s last planned out year and I loved it, even without him. I apologise for the blab, but I needed someone to know how I feel of this phone, yep a phone!

How does the battery life's compare, cause I always felt that the new iOS on older devices just sap away power so fast.

Still have and use mine, activated November 19, 2012. It's on its third battery but other than that it only has some scuffs and scratches. Pretty solid phone if you ask me. Will be sad to see it go.

I had a friend.,he has an iPad 4 and I just have an iPad 2.I was sad because I am a big fan of ios 10.and iPad 2 can't be updated to ios 10!but actually I was thinking ...why have advanced things when I can at least have ios 9.3.5 right? It's been 64bit (well both 32 or 64 depending on the device) since the iPhone 5S. iOS 11 will be exclusively 64bit so that's why the iPhone 5 won't be supported.

Yeah, that's why I'll be kinda sad if the iPhone SE doesn't have a successor. That form factor is the last remnant of what is imo the best iPhone design, the iPhone 4.

lol. Honestly I started with a 4 inch screen and don't see the need to buy something closer to a tablet i cant fit in my jean pocket. Phones have evolved in to an entertainment device 1st. For me, its a phone first with the bonus of other items. I can fit it perfectly in one hand and text plus reach all apps.

Lol you probably replaced the screen for 100+ dollars and the batteries for 30 dollars each that was 160 dollars ou could have bought the iPhone se I had an iPhone 5 and I switched carriers to get a better carrier and when I'm about to switch carriers a worker lowers the iPhone SE from 200-150 then I asked and they said it will be 125 if I switched and I will also get an ok Samsung phone for free so I was like ok and I just paid 125$ for and iPhone se and a not so bad Samsung it's called the Samsung prime and I pretty much kept the both phones great deal

My dad still uses an iPhone 5. I agree, one of their best phones.

Watching this makes me realise the importance of having the perfect iPhone with the perfect software. iPhone 5 was that; best hardware running the most crisp iOS. There wasn't any bugs and it pretty much just works. iOS 6 always look very neat and professional. The frame rates scrolling through the settings list and the album cover flow were the smoothest among all iOS.

iOS 6 was awesome so smooth and fast

I missed the old firmware! Those old memories!

iOS 6 brings me back man when I was like 4 or 5 my sisters came over and brought their iPhone 1st generation and I remember that design when scrolling through the apps and playing games now 7 to 8 years later I have an iPhone 6s

I still use the iPhone 5 with ios 10. It is a bit slow. Annoying sometimes. Can't wait for the 8 to come out

iOS 6 did actually have a control centre type thing. When you go to the app switcher, swipe left to get to a music player, and swipe left again for things like portrait mode lock.

i really loved the design from ios 6 it was so different in compare to other operating systems ..or even the new ones :(

My first ever Apple product was a white iPod touch 4th generation which came with iOS 4 or 5 (i can’t remember exactly). I bought it for £160 with my own money which was a lot back then but it was new when I got it! I distinctively remember the release of iOS 6 and I updated from iOS 5 to iOS 6 on the iPod. Not much changed but I was so excited with the changes! It was the first ever time I had experienced a new version of iOS. Up to this day, i still become extremely excited for EVERY release of iOS when it is revealed. It’s sad that my first ever apple product will probably be discontinued any times soon...... I know this video is about iPhone 5 but iOS 6 just reminded me of this. Still got that iPod to this date, all working perfectly, I mean sure, about 3 apps in the entire AppStore are comparable with I but who needs 3rd party apps on iOS 6 when you got an amazing operating system to enjoy! Just recently, my favourite mobile game ever became incompatible with iOS 6...... clash of clans.... At the time of the release of iOS 7 i was so upset that my iPod touch wouldn’t be compatible with it, but now I’m glad it wasn’t. Ahhhh good times good times. Rest in Peace iPod. I miss iOS 6. I wish I could get iOS 6 on my iPhone 6S 😓🙏👏👏👏

UR WRONG. iOS 6 supports geekbench 3 and iOS 10 supports geek bench 4. They use different calculations to calculate a score. So the 1640 on GB3 is closer to a 1200 in GB4. There is absolutely no difference in processing power between the different OS.
