I don't think the V brand changed anything. This is an Escalade and they have never been considered grandpa cars, V brand or not. It's the old Cadillac sedans that are considered grandpa cars. The reason Cadillac is moving away from this image is because their bigger cars (like the Escalade) are taking a bigger place in their line up and SUVs are not considered grandpa cars as a whole.

I sold Cadillacs in the late 2000s as a 20 year old and was always so nervous. The people buying these Escalades are stroking a check for $75k and I drove an S10. Another salesman told me "who cares if they can afford it and you can't. They don't know that. Also, if the ask about the fuel economy move on because they cannot afford it." Dude was 100% correct. Never saw a customer buy an Escalade who asked about fuel economy in two years.

All I have to say is "very good!" Generally... the sound of exhaust notes from accelerations don't translate very well into youtube audio which makes it difficult to analyze engine tuning, but this Escalade's acceleration exhaust note sounds very good from a "stock from the manufacturer" vehicle. I'm not really crazy about the crackling during decelerations though...... to me it gives off the "not quite finely tuned" vibe. Now the price tag of over $150,000 USD .... is frickin insane! All due respect...if you are gonna do it the "American way" ... this is America all day! Well done!

It's an interesting "feature" to have that exhaust...Lamborghini tunes to get noises like that so I suspect they are just after a specific type of customer here with this. Since it's not exactly fast I feel they targeted the "experience" which for the right customer I think they nailed here.

My dad says he doesn't realy care much about mpg as long as it can run atleast 350+ miles per tank. We own a 2022 esv and my family are one of the many lucky people who won big on scratchcard lotto, a total of almost $5m after tax on two separate wins ($7m & $2m before tax). They currently make about almost 200k passive income annually with an expense of under $80k for everything. Basically we have enough extra each year that he doesn't really care if mpg is a problem as long as it can drive far before a refill lol. Currently driving on a 2020 rav4 prime and definitely drives further than my dad's suv. Me I like good mileage because that way I don't have to stand double the time it takes to fill my dad's suv when he tags along with me to places.

Even though that's what the screen said (not manually calculated), so it could be tad lower. If I don't step on it too much, surprisingly the 8 cylinders don't drink too much on the highway. My long term average hovers around 20mpg with some highway and a lot of town driving with occasional rip on the backroad.

Still think it needs a wider stance hence fender flares to differentiate it from the other models plus no sport designed seats with aggressive bolstering & stitching, also steering wheel should be sport inspired & finally the interior trim needs racy bits not overly exaggerated though, but good job & thinking for actually producing such a beast!
