Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

    Not sure there is a range problem. It’s 230-320 miles, depending on model and trim. I don’t drive an electric car, but I have power outlet in my garage. And can name two fast charging stations in my tiny little farming town. And probably a dozen more that I’ve seen in the towns around me. I believe it is a non-issue for most people, even on long road trips. Stop for a meal or a coffee, charge up for a half hour, hop back on the road.

  • @RUSH__fan

    @@rustlesee I'm referring to how dramatically the range drops while towing. Depending on the load, range can be cut by more than half. Adding to this problem is that charging stations aren't set up to handle a full size pickup towing a trailer. Can you imagine towing your boat up to the cottage, having to find an available and functioning charging station along the way, and then unhooking your trailer so you can charge.

    Wished companies went to highly efficient plug in hybrids before going full electric. Truck drivers typically are going long distances in areas where I can guarantee have no public charging stations yet. Having a plug in hybrid allows the convenience of gas with the efficiency of electric. Like the Rav4 Prime for example.

  • @0hypnotoad0

    @0hypnotoad0

    They don't get the efficiency of full electric. I like PHEVs (or rather, I think REX/range-extenders are a good idea) but they are just plainly not the "best of both worlds." The electric range is pretty minimal, and the actual electric efficiency tends to be a bit lower since the pack voltages are lower. Most people who get PHEVs just wind up buying a fully electric model as their next car because the electric range leaves you wanting more. What I would like to see is Ford ditch the hybrid F150 entirely, and make a version of the Lightning that has a gasoline range extender. Maybe put a smaller 48 kwh "half" battery pack with a 200 km range, and then stick a small 3 cylinder engine/generator in there that can provide about 80 kW of power and boost the range indefinitely. PHEVs kind of suck, they are too much engine and not enough electric, they need to flip that dynamic around, make a vehicle with a decent electric range and then give a basic hybrid functionality for long trips or towing.

    Wish the price difference wasn't so big between the ICE & EV versions. For maintenance you're going to save what, $200/yr in oil changes? You'll still need brakes/tires/etc. As for gas fill-ups it'll still take a few years before you start saving money from not needing gas fill ups. For around town I agree they're great, but on trips I still worry about having to find charging stations and waiting for 40min+ to get charge vs just a couple minutes for regular fill-ups.

    5:10 I heard that Ford did sign a deal for Tesla to use their superchargers in 2024. I think the fake charger on the right is a teaser for an additional port compatible to Tesla superchargers. It makes sense because that area is the best location for a Tesla charge port because the charge port on the left side can hog two parking spots for supercharging parking lot (there is a video about this if you don't understand what I am saying here). If Tesla allows Ford to do this, then that will be great for every F150 lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners because they will not be a problem at all to the supercharging network.

    The Flag if the lighting bolt is an American thing I have a lariat er in silver identical to the truck you tested and mine has the American flag with lighting bolt. I agree that the the 12 in screen is better than the 15in screen.

    TO MUCH $$$$$ this truck is over 100k! not worth the money they want. It can't tow and has not been out long enough for any real reviews on durability. How long will the battery last? how much for a replacement battery? will I need to replace my brakes more due to the extra weight the truck has. I'll wait till 2035 thanks until then I'll drive my 2022 Ram Sport great review 👍

    8 year (or) 150,000km warranty. If the first Teslas are anything to go by, the batteries will usually last a lot longer than than. I wouldn't bother with a dealership replacement, if you have a battery issue you need to go to a third party who rebuilds battery packs, they'll do it for a few thousand bucks. Replacing an entire battery pack just because of one or two bad cells doesn't really make much sense, but that's what dealerships will try to do because they don't know how to fix anything on a component-level.

    Even the base model is too expensive now. A lot of people pointed out as a daily commute, if you have the money to buy it, the truck ride and EV ability is awesome. Charge at home and done. But for long distance and/or towing, it is a nightmare due to several factors.

    Saw a review comparison of Lightning Pro (cheapest) it had the American flag lightning bolt badge on the tailgate. Only a wishful guy would try to charge the Lightning on itself, but it would be interesting to see how long it would take to deplete the battery. Some electricity is lost in the conversion up and down and to run the electronics controlling the process. BTW what's the HP & Torq on the Raptor. The USA Lariat gets the lightning bolt and flag.

  • @Zarathustra-H-
    @Zarathustra-H- Жыл бұрын

    It's a shame they don't offer it in a two seat regular cab. Would be nice to both have electric AND a long bed so you can fit bigger items. If you are only going to get that tiny little bed, you might as well buy a Honda Civic. It just goes to show that in 2023, Pickup Trucks are for posturing, not for hauling or getting work done. If you work out of your truck, you'd probably be better off getting the E-Transit van, except Ford hamstrung it by giving it a tiny little battery resulting in half the range of the F-150 Lightning.

    i find it weird that ford isn't marketing the crap out of this - other than the light bars on the front and rear you would think this is just a regular F150 - they should have giant lighting bolts on the rear end and tailgate and stuff like the raptor
