Rio de los Pinos: Relaxing Memorial Day Camping Trip
A relaxing weekend getaway to the New Mexico-Colorado border. 2 days to just unwind, unplug and enjoy some time with nature and a friend. Beautiful landscapes, the beginning of the Colorado peak snow melt, some wandering open-range cattle, noisy bullfrogs...everything I was hoping for on my Memorial Day camping trip.

First went there in 1965, only the locals knew of this gem back then really. My old man was always looking for new places to fish, camping was just a necessary chore to him. Been back a couple times since, it's different somehow and too many people now. Thanks.

It's still a lot less crowded than a lot of the other places I go camping. Probably just because it's not very close to any major cities. I just discovered it about 3 years ago.
Good video. This is one of the places I want to hit this year. I don’t like campgrounds this place looks like it’s a spot in NF land? I usually winter camp to avoid crowds and bugs but this year I’m taking at least a trip a month and this is a place I want get to.

It's a great spot and most campsites are pretty well spaced. I'm not sure if it's NF or BLM.
