Gold and Platinum wedding rings when down the garbage disposal. Can I fix them?

📖 Video description: Two different people from different sides of the United States contacted me about fixing their rings that had gone through the garbage disposal. One ring was 14K yellow gold and the other was platinum. Both rings were chewed up pretty badly. I was able to round out the rings, add extra metal to the platinum ring, and smooth it out. The Yellow gold ring was redone using CAD, 3D printing, and the lost wax casting process.

I'm a jewelry student. Sizing up would be easier as you can "spread" the metal, sizing down would entail cutting it and soldering it, or leaving it open, in general it's probably best to get the exact size you want! a ring sizer would save a lot of trouble down the line!

That is a tough question because it depends on what level of tool you choose to buy. You could spend 2-5K on a proper beginner set-up, but I've set my course up in a way where you wouldn't need to get everything just to get started.

Question because theres both talking about platinum and gold in this video: which is heavier by the atom? Platinum or gold. Answer its actually gold. Explanation: if you take a look at the periodic table of elements platinum is at 78 and gold is at 79 and that means by the weight of a singular atom of each gold would be heavier so is you have rings that have the exact same amount if gold atoms amd platinum atoms for each then gold would be heavier.
