Rings and Gemstones in Islam | EXPLAINED

Rings and gemstones have a special place in Islamic culture and history. Most if not all Muslims agree that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) wore at least one ring. What are the Islamic philosophies of wearing a ring and benefits of gemstones?

    Umar (رضي الله عنه) once kissed the Hajar al-Aswad and said, “I know well that you are just a stone that can do neither good nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (ﷺ) kiss you, I would not have done so.” Umar (رضي الله عنه) made the statement because there were many people who were newly converted to Islam and he did not want them to get the impression that Muslims also revered stones as the Arabs revered and worshipped stone idols during the Period of Ignorance. Umar (رضي الله عنه) made it clear that he was following the Sunnah practice of the Prophet (ﷺ) and that although the stone is blessed, it can do neither harm nor good...

    Sheikh Al Utheymeen in his explanation of Kitab at Tawheed said : "Wearing a ring or other device, if it is worn out of the belief that it has the power to act on the creation apart from Allah, then the wearer is a polytheist and has committed major polytheism which is opposed to oneness in lordship, for he has recognized another creator with Allah [without even knowing it]. And if he believes that it is merely a cause [of obtaining a good or dispelling an evil], without attributing this independent character to it, then he is considered a polytheist of the minor type [not excluding from the sphere of Islam], because from the moment he attributes to this ring [or hand] the character of a cause, then he has associated himself with Allah the Most High by granting it of his own accord."

I heard that someone didn't tie his goat up to a tree thinking that he only has to put his trust in Allah. Then someone told him that you tie your goat up then put trust in Allah because it's the most logical thing. Idk if i made any sense but i think you can understand what i'm saying . • @mohammedkhan2020

    @mohammedkhan2020

    2 жыл бұрын

    Melody V Yes it's haram because you are practicing rituals which belong to those people who comit shirk and are in to spells and magic etc. Best to stay away from all that because even if you don't believe in it does not mean that doing such rituals will not attract shayateen in to your life and the last thing you want is for you to uknowingly call jinns in to your life and have them mess with you. Find a hobby which is not linked to all this superstitious nonesense. The shayateen operate by slowly leading you in to shirk. So first they will wisper to you that you're only doing it for fun and you don't believe in it so it's ok. Then they will show you things connected to the rituals in order to make you believe that these gemstones have special powers so you fall in to shirk and then you will end up comitting shirk and believing that these powerless stones can help you. If you have these stones and youve been doing these rituals get rid of those stones and stay away from this stuff you seriously dont want to be messing with this stuff because once they enter your life and start messing with you getting rid of them isn't as easy as inviting them in.

    The Prophet SAW wore a ring on his index finger?.. Then why did he prohibit Ali from wearing a ring on the middle finger and the one next to it (can be either index or ring finger). Now you're confusing everyone, or you're confused yourself. Numerous hadiths point he wore his ring on his little finger as a seal and turned the face (bezel) towards his palm. Both right and left hands interchangedly. From Hadith Sunah Abu Dawud: Book 29, Number 4214: Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) used to wear the signet-ring on his right hand. Book 29, Number 4215: Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) used to wear the signet-ring on his left hand, and put its stone next the palm of his hand. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Ishaq and Usamah b. Zaid transmitted from Nafi': "on his right hand." Book 29, Number 4216: Narrated Nafi': Ibn 'Umar used to wear his signet-ring on his left hand. Book 29, Number 4217: Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: I saw al-Salt ibn Abdullah ibn Nawfal ibn Abdul Muttalib wearing the signet-ring on his right small finger. I asked: What is this? He replied: I saw Ibn Abbas wearing his ring in this manner. He put its stone towards the upper part of his palm. Ibn Abbas also mentioned that the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to wear his signet-ring in his manner. The ring of the Prophet was of iron coated in silver set with an Abyssinian stone. From Hadith Sunah Abu Dawud: Book 29, Number 4212: Narrated Iyas b. al-Harith al-Mu'aiqib quoting his grandmother: The signet-ring of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) was of iron polished with silver. Sometimes it remained in my possession. Al-Mu'ayqib was in charge of the signet-ring of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him). Thumb rings are a matter of dispute among bookworm scholars but thumb rings are allowed as archers commonly wore them during battle to protect themselves.

    The only reason why the Prophet sws had a ring, was for the seal of the new muslim government, because the unbelieving governments required a seal on documents they receive. He instructed for no one to posses a ring such as, to ensure no documents were not forged. However, any notion as to gem stone color, as any part of true islamic culture is a fabricated lie.

    Shirk is equating anything/anyone else with Allah. I find it quite funny that everything that the Salafis don't accept they call "shirk". Even if it's nothing of the kind. We also take medicine to protect out lives, I don't see salafis saying it's shirk to believe medicine heals us. There are things in nature that Allah created that help us, for example various herbs help us with certain ailments. Knowing their properties and using them doesn't mean we are committing bidaa or shirk. It just means, these natural things can help us. Of course, if you pray to a stone and think it can give or take things for you, then you are in the act of shirk. But believing that natural elements can help us in various ways is not shirk in any way shape or form. It is strange that salafis take no issue in placing their faith in synthetic medicines, which are results of scientific research yet they are absolutely strict when it comes to placing their faith in the prophetic traditions and call them shirk and discard them. In a way, salafism is a strict ritualistic version of Islam which is devoid of spirituality and thus in essence is a brainchild of Eurocentricism.

    A muslim Man can wear any metallic jewelries (silver, platinum, copper, steel, etc.) except a pure gold. It is permissible for a muslim Guy to wear a gold regardless how heavy it is as long as it is not pure gold. In other words, you wear 14, 18, or 21 karrats of gold but not 24 karrats since 24 karrats gold is 99 to 100% pure gold. And as long as a muslim is not wearing it for butification purposes like a woman does with the gold; or to wear it as a representation of high rankings on society. In short, a muslim Guy can wear a gold as long as it is not 100% gold and wearing it purposely as a reward for himself and not to symbolize it as a social status.

    Actually it depends what type of t Shia they are. I am an Iranian Shia Muslim I am 16 and have been taught by most scholars in Iran that wearing a ring in Islam is Sunday and yes only some benefits for health can come from the stone such as aqeeq is good for blood and your heart sane with ferozeh or turquoise it helps with vision and your blood and heart. But I personally believe that Allah subhana wata’ala has put shafa’a in everything such as fruits, and vegetables, etc but he has also put in shafaa in that which has come fro the earth besides food he has also put shafaa in minerals such as gems or stones
