The church in Corconio (Italy) is located in one of the most beautiful positions on Lake Orta, a place with some of the most beautiful buildings in the Alps. The symmetrical façade is very essential and dominates the whole village and the mountain; on the left rises the bell tower on which there are five bells in A flat major. In 1965, a local foundry recovered the two original bells and added three new castings, giving the entire medieval village a true concert. The fourth bell is the rarest, cast in 1774 by a master who taught the art to the famous Pietro Franca of Locarno, Switzerland.

The five bells are ringing as heavy rain is approaching, which will later turn into heavy lightning and hail. This was the start of two days full of art, in the midst of many churches and very helpful volunteers. The most helpful was the friend who hosted me in this always magnificent place.
The history of the oratory dedicated to the martyr Saint Stephen began in the 17th century, when the church was built over the old medieval building belonging to the counts. The Bonola family was originally from the area and gave very famous artists to the entire duchy, including the one who would go on to paint the great canvases of Milan Cathedral. In 1628, the oratory was completed with a single nave, covered by a very simple vault. In 1670, the church was considerably enlarged with two small chapels, later brought into line with the style of the whole building. The interior is one of the most beautiful works of art in all the northern lakes, having the entire surface frescoed by the best artist of the 18th century. The numerous paintings are also the work of excellent artists, this time dating back to the 17th century.

Alles sehr historisch. Sehr schöne Aufnahmen, manchmal aber auch etwas zu schnell geschwenkt. Da würde ich mit 60 FPS filmen. Sonst aber gut gemacht. Der Daumen hoch Nr. 54 ist von mir. Gruß Rainer
