Hey, thanks for stopping by to check out my version of the Ring Swing Battle Game! This is a super simple build that is sure to provide you with hours of fun with your friends and family members. Please make sure and let my great friend Leo know how much you appreciate him repeatedly beating me at my own game in the comments section, he will get a great laugh out of that! Thanks for your time and support. Smash that like button, subscribe to my channel if you’d like to be notified about new videos that I’ll be posting in the future, share this video with a friend, and come back and see me soon! Please.
For this project, you will need:
*2x6 for the base
*1” dowel rod for the upright (I would recommend using oak instead of pine if you plan on disassembling & reassembling your game for transport).
*2x2 furring strip for the top cross piece
*Baby eye bolts or ‘screw eyes’
*1” brass hooks (this is what I used)
*String

    Great video. Thanks! I appreciate you posting the measurements. However, I did find it hard to tell the length of the string. The picture is deceiving when the string is attached to the rings. Do you measure to the top of the base or the bottom of the base? Thanks!

  • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    2 жыл бұрын

    @Andrew Slater Hey Andrew, thanks for this question. I had to go back and re-watch my own video to see what exactly you were talking about. I would measure the string from the top, where it is attached to the eyebolt, to the bottom of the base. Basically, you just want to give yourself enough extra string to work with so you can tie yourself a good knot in the rings. Then you will trim off the excess. You don't want to cut it too short initially or its gonna be too hard to work with. I hope this helps. I appreciate you stopping by. Talk to you again down the road my friend.

    Recommend making the base longer? I see you are holding it down while you are playing…

  • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    2 жыл бұрын

    @Bart Jones Hey Bart, thanks a lot for your recommendation. Yes, I was holding it down during game play. A longer or heavier base would take care of that likely. Maybe a slightly shorter top piece that doesn't stick over the edge of the base piece would work too. These were the first ones that I made and I didn't really want them to have a giant footprint. If I make some more and end up adjusting the measurements, I'll post an updated reply to your comment here. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your time.

    How do you in insure that the base and the top are square with each other and the hooks?

  • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    3 жыл бұрын

    @John Lehman Extremely careful measuring and cutting/drilling. Make sure the dowel is on a flat surface and drill through with a drill press...also used the drill press with a forstner bit(drills a flat bottom hole) for the top and base. Use oak(harder wood) instead of pine to keep the ends from getting compressed in to a cone-Ish type shape. Smash it all together pretty tight and put a small speed square on the base and dowel if you really want or need to, it will be square if the platform on your drill press is level though. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for stopping by.

    @@CurtisMadeIt I mostly mean the top and base. There is no real reference point to make sure the are parallel. At least that is what I struggle with.

  • @CurtisMadeIt

    @CurtisMadeIt

    3 жыл бұрын

    @John Lehman I would say get it together with some glue in the top and bottom forstner holes and measure from the edge of your base on both sides up to the top and make sure those are equal. That will for sure make it square.
