Ring Road Rawalpindi Latest News | Rawalpindi Ring Road | Margalla Avenue Extension to Motorway

Welcome to ‪@freedrivetopak‬
In this video, we explore the monumental Rawalpindi Ring Road Project and the Margalla Avenue Extension Project, pivotal developments set to transform Rawalpindi and its connectivity with Islamabad and beyond.
Rawalpindi, the fourth-largest city in Pakistan by population, is closely linked to its twin city, Islamabad. The Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) is a long-awaited infrastructure project aimed at enhancing this connection and easing traffic congestion. Initially proposed in 1991 under Nawaz Sharif's government, the project faced numerous delays due to political and financial hurdles. However, significant progress has been made recently, with the project finally taking shape in 2023. The Rawalpindi Ring Road Update 2024 brings exciting news, showcasing the project's advancement and future prospects.
The Rawalpindi Ring Road spans 38.3 km, starting from Banth on GT Road (N-5) near Rawat and ending at the Thalian Interchange on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2). This route, detailed in the Rawalpindi Ring Road Full Map, passes through key areas, including Mouza Mera Mohra, Bassali, Adyala Road, and Chakri Road. The project's completion will significantly reduce traffic congestion, cut down on pollution, and promote industrial development by ensuring efficient movement of goods and people. It will also foster economic growth by connecting Rawalpindi with other industrial cities like Peshawar, Wah Cantt, and Hattar Industrial Estate.
Detailed designs by NESPAK were submitted in 2022, and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) was awarded the construction contract. As we approach the Rawalpindi Ring Road May 2024 milestone, the project's progress is evident, promising substantial improvements in the region's infrastructure.
In 2008, a more concrete proposal outlined a 75 km stretch starting from Channi Alam Sher. The plan gained traction during Shahbaz Sharif's 2010 visit to China, where funding discussions took place. However, it wasn't until 2016 that the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) took significant steps towards realizing the project under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. NESPAK, KPMG, and MTC conducted preliminary feasibility studies, proposing a 38.3 km main carriageway from Banth N-5 to Thalian (M-2), with optional links to Rawat, Girja Chowk, and Fateh Jang Tarnol Road.
In addition to the RRR 2024, another significant project, the Margalla Avenue Extension, is also underway. This extension aims to enhance the existing Margalla Highway from GT Road (N-5) to the Motorway (M-1), further improving connectivity within the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area. The Margalla Avenue Extension from M1 to N5 is designed as a 6-lane, access-controlled road. The initial 2.4 km, executed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), includes re-alignment at N-5, a complete interchange, and grade separation on Sangjani link road. The remaining 2.8 km, managed by the National Highway Authority (NHA), will feature significant infrastructure developments, including grade separation, ramps on Shahrah-Mehr Road, a bridge on Bahuda Kas water channel, and remodeling of the existing Sangjani/AWT Interchange.
The M1 to N5 (GT Road) Extension of Margalla Avenue is a crucial project for easing traffic flow and enhancing regional connectivity. The Margalla Avenue Extension project scope and latest updates in 2024 indicate a promising future for this infrastructure development, significantly benefiting commuters and the local economy.
Join us as we take you on a comprehensive tour of these transformative projects, showcasing detailed maps, the latest updates, and the significant impact these developments will have on Rawalpindi's infrastructure and economic growth. The Rawalpindi Ring Road Latest Update and Margalla Avenue Extension highlights in this video provide an in-depth look at the progress and future prospects of these critical infrastructure projects.

RDA/CDA Should Connect Margalla Avenue To M14 CPEC Interchange instead of AWT Interchange .

I think it is because of less finances required as AWT interchange already working.
