Riley Green discusses working construction, his first tour with Brad Paisley, and his rising career
Jay is joined by country music superstar Riley Green, who talks about growing up in a construction family and never thought he'd have a chance to play music for a living. Plus Jay and Riley reminisce about growing up in the south, and how Riley was playing bars at night and working construction during the day, and finding out that his music had spread by word-of-mouth and he discovered he had an audience. Riley also recalls that his first big tour was with Brad Paisley and praises him for being so supportive and helping keep things calm so he didn't get caught up in the tour scene at a young age. Plus Riley compares playing on stage to playing sports, their shared passion for hunting, the state of college football, and his current tour with Dirks Bentley.

Riley is so down 2 earth & a great guy. I love listening 2 him talking about his life & growing up. Sport/ music & hunting. I am a big fan all the way from England, never touched a gun but listening 2 Riley about hunting I want 2 go turkey hunting with him so much. Not sure I wood b able 2 shot a duck flying & don't think I could kill bambi dad. Lol. But give me a turkey. 🦃 u r an amazing singer song writer & never stop what u r doing. X

All I can say is that media influence must be real, because I've for YEARS thought Jay came off as the blandest, most bro-iest douche in the world, but he's really anything but that. He has a dry sense of humor, great timing, and seems like an intelligent guy who has interests in many areas. Nice to see a guy cast as the perpetual heel get a shot at a different reputation. My favorite podcast so far is him and McCown, who is an absolute class act. Also I grew up in Boonville Indiana (southern Indiana) and he very much has the personality traits of that region LOL.

Also I hope that you get Adam Corolla on, you being on his show is the way I found out about your show. One other suggestion. You and Corolla talked about the correlation between football and the military. I would love for you to get an enlisted Marine on. I guess the reason I want to see you get a Marine on is because I did eight years in the Marine Corps and definitely can see the correlation between the Marine Corps and football. Why in the hell would you get a cold tub? Hell No I have a pool with a built in hot tub/spa that dumps into the pool. The hell with a cold tub. You gotta get a hotbtub/spa that sits at least 8 people and has multiple jets and goes up to 108 degrees!!! Thats where you wanna be bro!😎
