In the JJK-verse, some people have a Heavenly-pact/restriction that’s basically what it sounds: a trait/condition that’s pretty much divinely placed upon them where they lose something and gain something else in exchange. Maki is kind of like this, but Toji is on the EXTREME end where he has ZERO cursed-energy, but in exchange, he gets his crazy physical stats

It always cracks me up that vs Gojo it’s monsters and magic swords and such but right after he just pulls out a gun.

If you listen closely when Gojo was talking right before he got stabbed, when he closed his eyes there was an audible sound of Gojo releasing Limitless. Also that cursed spirit around Toji is why this arc is called Hidden Inventory.

I agree. This is definitely a peak into how unfair the jujutsu world is for its sorcerers. This arc is short but the events in it shaped alot of our characters lives and principles for the rest of the story.

Its not that kids are stronger, its that geto and gojo were considered the strongest sorcerers they had. I believe special grade sorcerers are graded as someone who could take out an entire country on their own.

I have never seen Morgan’s react that way, I think a show finally caught her out of guard

Tengen's role in the jujutsu community, is of a buffer support, every person using barriers in the show are only capable of doing as effectively as they do thanks to him, he literally keeps all veils in good shape around Japan by merely existing.

Probably one of my favorite episodes ever to watch people react to LMAOO the happy music throws you off so hard you just don’t expect such a sudden and brutal death lol

🤭 love the look on Morgans's face so hopeful and filled with promise for the future.

We see Gojo at his peak. And that makes us think that he's untouchable. He's one of the four special grade sorcerers. Even so, he was still blindsided by Toji. By wearing him down and making him let his guard down, Toji was able to get the drop on him. He has absolutely zero cursed energy but is gifted strength and speed in exchange via a heavenly pact. Like Maki. And with his special spear that negates any other cursed technique, Gojo's limitless was broken through. And right as Riko decided she wanted to live and Geto declared he and Gojo would protect her, her dreams were halted with a single blast from Toji. Pain and sadness are common in this show.

Please please use that Rick and The Devil laughing clip more often 🤣😂😂 burst our laughing when i saw it!

Heavenly Pacts are boons that you are just born with, but come at a cost. -Toji and Maki are similar, no curse energy, but their physical traits are pushed to greater heights. Faster reflexes, greater strenght, enhanced senses, etc. Obviously Toji's is pushed to the extreme. -Mechamaru is the opposite, an absurd amount of cursed energy, but look at his body. Missing limbs, skin that burns with moonlight, having to be confined to a window-less room in a bath, living through a robot.

This is a rough one. Im looking forward to the discussion.

To Morgan's point about them doing the "right thing": This show explores this question INTENTIONALLY a lot with a lot of characters in its dialogue, the chose between action vs inaction. The show is explicit about the fact the one's own choice is the only thing anyone has control over- and the top jujutsu sorcerers knows this the best. Gojo and Geto's discussion was regarding what choice THEY would make if the vessel refused- since her refusing is her choice independent of them. They werent discussing convincing her to not change or ever the process itself is moral- simply how would they proceed if this interference occurred with the mission. I think they made the right choice- deciding to respect her decision to choose her own destiny. But no one choices even matter when Toji enters the room. His decisions triumphs all xD I love this show

The boys decided to give her a choice but i dont think thats how it typically goes. Riko just happened to be born with a body compatible with tengen and she doesnt even get to choose when she has to give it up. Its just a matter of when tengens body needs to be reset :(

Actually to answer your question the choice was important, had riko decided to get assimilated she would've reached the safezone as tengen would've protected her with a barrier, due to her choosing that she doesnt want to and her conversation with geto it gave toji enough time to actually shoot her. If she walks literally down the steps she survives and the assimilation happens but because she decided to turn back toji killed her.

I've never paid much attention to the JJK poster on the right side of the screen until now. Toji is in the background, stalking them, just waiting to humble Gojo.

Favorite episode of the show, hands down.

The religious comparison is pretty accurate! Jjk has LOTS of Buddhist influences

you’re right in saying that it didn’t matter that riko was given a choice since she could have been shot by toji either way, which makes the scene seem pointless in terms of story themes if you are looking at the potential of tengen in the plot - but hopelessness and ineffectual action and suffering for a cause that you ultimately have no control over is one of the key themes of this flashback arc. the build up of all these moments of despair and helplessness are very important to the development of geto’s character 😊 the point is that geto is doing the things he thinks is right and moral, but his efforts amount to nothing in the end. great reaction, i know you have already seen the next few episodes so i’m sure this might have become clear - can’t wait to watch the next one! also - i hope you caught that the blonde guy was high school nanami!

21:30 its funny cuz it does endup going that way just not with gojo and geto but with yuji and megumi XD yuji 'sacrifices' himself in the fight with choso so others could save gojo but ends up basically giving the bad guys a free pass to unleashing sukuna megumi sacrifices himself to kill 1 bad guy by summoning mahoraga and with the fight bettween mahoraga and sukuna ends up killing a bunch of people in shibuya
