cp3onmtv963 that’s awesome 👏 I too am a shoe maker focusing on three types of footwear. Sneakers, cycling shoes, speed skates. This is pretty much the same method that I use instead of buying a last! Keep up the awesome work!

Great film. I love watching talented craftspeople creating and this elevates shoemaking to high art. Thanksalot. Edmundo, it's not only old people who need to wear orthopedic shoes. Try going to your local Rheumatology out patients dept and you'll meet lots of high spirited (despite their disabilities) young people. PS. had to mute the music. Personally i'd like to hear the workshop noises.

so to make a shoe you mold and cast a foot, shave down the castings ankles, heat up foam and vaccum form it to the foot cast grind and cut away untill the sides of foam are flush to the sides of foot and bottom of foam is flat, cut generic leather or other shoe patterns , sow them together, glue something to the bottom of the sole ,heat up plastic and form it to the toe protection, put the leather around the foot, put contact cement on bottom of sole, and use plires to pull all the tension from the leather and press into the contact cemented sole, then after leather is glued to sole , grind away all the flaps that formed on bottom of shoe form and glue on the shoes foam pad.

I really wanted to see the actual finish product, at the end you shown something different, it's liked I have wasted an hour watching this, also the music was a lot annoying had to mute it...

Great video.. I was wondering.... What is the thin white tape? Where can I get some vamp stiffining material? And lastly, what type of glue do you preffer? Thank you for the video ;)

Él está usando yeso de París presumiblemente después de hacer un molde de yeso del pie del cliente. Puede rasurar el yeso cuando aún está tibio y apenas fraguado, como puede ver en el video. If the shoe was made to fit the exact mold of the foot then it would fit too loosely. The shoe needs to squeeze the foot enough to remain in place while being worn. Its easy to twist an ankle in shoes that are too loose. Shaping the mold allows for the shoe to be well fit to the foot while maintaining a custom fit. The form of the last was still very different from universal size lasts.

bllourias I know the video appears to have made it look as if he took away a lot of material but in actuality he added plaster to the toe area which gapped the length of the toes, if it were taking away at the toe it would hurt your toes as you walk even if you just slipped them on. I know the feeling. My first pair I made of sneakers I forgot to gap the toe box area, I was so excited to make a pair I forgot that step. Feet were killing my toes 😂 the learning curve

Where do you life?

Why is the industry standard taupe upholstery leather, lol. Surely using a corrected grain brown leather or something similar wouldn't bump the cost up too much... Maybe the market would expand if these shoes didn't look utterly ridiculous.

PC if you will check out his website, these are not shoes for people with no feet problems. A doctor has ordered these shoes for people with foot problems from whatever reason. Don't be such a dumb critic!

Thats shoes is for people with foot disease, diabetic, arthritis, amputations, ulcer.
