    This could of been the single most educational video on fishing I've seen. That's saying alot. That man opened up his life time of fishing, and just layed it out there.

    And yet they're full of crap about sharks, because these two aren't sharp enough thinkers, apparently, to understand the first law of natural predation. Which is, Don't Be (as a matter of fact, CAN'T Be, evolutionarily) a dominant enough predator to wipe out your food supply. There is a reason sharks have survived for eons... and it is because they actually enhance the survival of their prey, as species... because sharks long ago evolved unusually powerful immune systems, that allow them to cull the weakened, genetically disease prone members of a school of fish without getting the disease themselves... and, in general, with their focus on the weakest, genetic stragglers of a school, they actually "give back" (not that it is altruism) at least as much as they take, in terms of that species' survival... although of course their own species' population increases in a slipstream fashion, when they are giving back more than they take from a given food source's survival. Anyway, to blame a handful of shark feeding operations for a widespread "problem" is a shortsightedly self-serving load of crap... when you compare the amount of food that those type of operations (not that I support them) put in the water, versus what the anchored bait fishermen up and down the coast put in the water, even when it is not clear enough to dive. And this sort of "bribery" to cooperate, by angler and diver chummers alike, has a terrible behavior modification effect on fish as well as on sharks... and, of course, the sharks prey on these domesticated fish, that have been conditioned to wait for a handout, when those are hooked... because they've been conditioned to do so. But ask yourself, if you know the Bahamas, is the getting-sharked "problem" worst of all in some of the least pressured areas... and are not the fish populations the greatest? Doh, could there be a connection? In fact, instead of being proud of your stationary master baiting in Florida, try drifting through with lures, with short "bite leaders" of 32 lb test silver (camouflage, ask a baitfish) colored single strand wire (but get a wire straightener)... and, in the process, penalize/condition what not-scent-drawn sharks DO bother to come after your hooked fish, by making them fight desperately for 'em... and, you'll find out that there isn't much of a problem... for those who are willing to somewhat work with their environment, instead of taking a "less mature than a shark", entitled attitude toward it!

  • @Bartimusblue27

    @Bartimusblue27

    4 жыл бұрын

    Use at least 50lbs of drag, and have an expert captain to maneuver the boat to change the angle the angler has on the fish, so they can gain line back. It usually takes 1/20 of a fish’s weight to ‘float’ it, as dead weight. As long as the angler keeps the line tight to the fish, it ultimately comes down to how the captain can position them on the fish to get line back after a run or give line and drive away from the fish to bring it back up if it dives down.
