Hello Ninh! I can agree that Riga is a very nice place! As a Latvian native, I can address a few things. 1. The reason why Riga is under so much construction is because of the ongoing Rail Baltica project, which is meant to integrate the Baltics in the European rail network. 2. Finding free public toilets is a real problem, unfortunately. 3. The price of food and drink in Riga is kind of inflated, but outside of Riga or any of the major Latvian cities, the prices are cheaper. 4. If I had recommend other Latvian cities or towns to visit, I would recommend for example Cesis, which is considered the birthplace of the Latvian flag, Kuldiga, home of the widest waterfall in Europe: the Venta Rapid, Jurmala, Latvia’s most popular resort city, Sigulda, known for it’s famous bobsled track and cable car, which goes over the Gauja River, Ventspils, which has a lot of cows around the city (not real cows, of course) and Liepaja, the music capital of Latvia.

😀Thanks again for your comments. 1) Ah, that does explain it. I did wonder why there was so much of it going on at the same time? 2) It was a little surprise to find that there are no free toilets in places where there usually are. 3) I did find that food was inflated in restaurants and stuff like that, but small shops and supermarkets were no different to anywhere else in Europe. 4) That's good to know - I'd love to come back and explore more of your country!

there are some free public bathrooms in some rīga supermarkets or shopping centers, you gotta know the locations to stay safe. at least i know that there are free ones in two gallery shopping centers. there are some in the parks as well but im not sure if they are cleaned as often as the shopping center ones and there are more options in shopping centers if one or two happen to be dirty

Riga, the one of the most underrated city in Europe.

Sadly too many KZread travel videos are vloggers showing mainly themselves, people who make 'travel guides' that have clearly never been there, or AI generated robo-rubbish. Whilst it's probably not the most obvious city destination, it's still a pretty charming place to visit. I'd recommend visiting this, Tallinn and Vilnius in one trip for sure.

Cool, hope this video helps? Admittedly, you'll probably see most of what Riga has to offer in about two days. Still nice though.

I laughed hard when you recommended not staying in Pārdaugava (across the river from the old town). Because even though I think Pārdaugava has a lot of interesting stuff to see, it pales in comparison to what's in the old town and I really don't mind keeping the tourists out of the spots my friends hang around in

Great video, as usual. Well done. I loved a cheeky visit to Aberdeen last year. Don't know if you've alreay done a video on that. Was good. Aberdeen Old Town with the cathedral, and King's College, and old bridge was a surprise. It's a great UK city break.

It's an interesting place for sure, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip to see Riga. If you tie it in with a trip to Tallinn and Helsinki, it's totally worth it. :)

Thanks! I prefer Tallinn for sure, it's a lot easier to navigate, the people are friendlier, it's cheaper and there's more things to do. Riga wasn't bad at all, but out of the two - I'd love to visit Tallinn again.

The weather is pleasant in April, not too hot, not too cold. You might get some rain, but it's an easy city to walk around, so it shouldn't matter if it does. Be sure to share this video if you found it helpful. Hope you enjoy Riga! 🙂
