I love Duvall's humility. I love Layne, but as a long time AiC fan it took me a lot of time to buy into Duvall's vocals. And I have to say, I appreciate the part of the video where he talks about not having done enough to deserve a signature guitar. Love this guy now.

@@moresnare Every AIC fan knows how you feel. Remember what Sean and Jerry said that after the benefit show they did in 2005 the consensus by fans who saw the show felt that the band should move forward to honor Layne as well as help the band and the fans move through the grieving process. Everybody who saw William at that show were totally behind him and the band after that show. Considering what the band has been through having William is a better fit than I thought possible. We cannot replace Layne, everybody knows it but the band has done well at honoring Laynes memory. Personally I will say this about bands that are forced to do a line up change. I really like what AIC has been able to do in comparison to what AC/DC did, nothing against Brian Johnson but Bon left behind a pair of shoes that just cannot be filled . But AC/DC are one of my favorite groups and when comparing situations with bands. AIC has done a better job Than AC/DC did.🎶

@@Gratefulman1965 REALLY well said. I'm warming up to William, but Layne will simply always _BE_ AIC to me. And I agree wholeheartedly about AC/DC. I CANNOT STAND Brian Johnson's voice! 🤮 Bon Scott had one of THE MOST unique voices in rock that simply _cannot_ be duplicated or matched (much like Layne, Robert Plant, Kurt or Chris). When Bon died, and they rolled out BJ, I was DONE. 👎However, I'm such an AIC fan I'm trying really hard to give Will a chance. And so far I'm very impressed, not that my opinion means anything. Love ALL the guys. ❤🫀💔🎸🎤🥁

Love love LOVE hearing great artists like these 2 get excited talking about their beloved gear! I like "behind the scenes" stories about almost anything, but music/band stuff is always so fascinating and special because the equipment used is typically the cream of the crop for that artist, something they use constantly and adore wholeheartedly. And just the fact that they can rattle off the names & effects of all of the equipment that they use without missing a beat is really amazing. 😳 Jerry is quite obviously a musical gearhead, he just has a natural gift for it. He makes me believe that he's truly using _way_ more than the typical 10% of his brain capacity than the rest of us "mere mortals"! 🧠 Great interviews!

Armaan Shah Ok then correct me and say he's a great musician instead of acting like a child. How about form a new band? Cantrell would make that happen. AIC should not be about replacing Layne, they should move on. Would Nirvana be Nirvana without Cobain? Would Soundgarden be Soundgarden without Cornell? Laynes voice was so unique that you can't replace that. A counter example would be Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was a 7 man band at the time of Ronnie's death and people recognized the band as opposed to Ronnie himself. Not only that, the Van Zants have a stellar family musician background. That's why Skynyrd worked. Its different with AIC, that being less people and Staley being such a unique vocalist. Come back and talk when you educate yourself and act like a grown up.

Adam Nihei Layne was a loss, but he wasn't AIC. He hardly wrote anything. Losing his voice in the songs was like losing a special instrument. No, the music won't sound quite the same, but it wouldn't sound the same even if he was still there.

Five-One-Five-oh....We always called it Fifty-One Fifty as in the california penal code. 5150. Insane. To be locked up in a padded room. Considering that the amp is an EVH model i think i can safely assume that it is 5150 and not 5 1 5 oh. It was a brit asking the question and defo younger than me so i can only assume he dont know. Hell, i might have it wrong as well but we always called it 5150 and not spelled out the numbers individually. William says he has played guitars other than the traditional wooden ones. Play a steinberger. Bring steinbergers back to life

Zakk Wylde, Hendrix, Bonamassa and now I see Cantrell has the 'ya know' syndrome. Must be an American guitarist thing. Once you notice the 'ya know' you can't stop noticing it, and I find it becomes distracting to what they're actually talking about. Ya know. Les ya know paul, it's like, ya know, a hammer, ya know and a screw ya know driver. P.S this isn't a slur against the aforementioned players before any fanboys get in to full blown keyboard warrior mode and start mashing the keys in an inconsolable rage :)

+Kodie Gregory * is a feminist * * has literally no problem with depictions of naked women so long as the depiction itself isn't misogynistic * seriously, unless you're dealing with sex-negative feminists (which are few and far in between) or someone like a SWERF (sex worker exclusionary radfem), you're not gonna find many feminists who go "that woman is naked! sexism!"
