Where as some of the most talented musicians in the world, principal violinists and such, from philharmonic symphonies, take home less than $30,000 in a lot of cases. Small city philharmonic orchestra players don't even make $10,000. I know which music I'd like to spend 20 years playing, and getting paid to perform. TheZooropaBaby Well I'm sure that's a matter of taste; I was surprised that I liked them. Having only heard the ballad hits for such a long time I only got to see a recording of gig very recently and they have a Police kind of vibe going most of the time, and they play really tight. But I realize that's not for everyone, but then, nothing is.

    9 жыл бұрын

TheZooropaBaby I see! That makes sense. Actually I'm sure the band will continue to evolve and change and they may well go back to stronger rock in future. I don't think a band can actually rationally fully control their musical direction, I know singers often have it controlled by management or set it artificially, but I think a band is a different matter, I see it like a living organism. And this sound (I am very impressed by) is a clear indication of that rock element remaining strong, it's just a matter of the rest of the organism focusing on that element (or not...). But in terms of thinking about music outside genre confines, I think Maroon 5 are still on the top shelf in terms of quality with not many bands on that shelf to keep them company, especially in their age group. ;)

The purpose of a guitar rig is to inspire the person playing it

Having the imagination first and the ability second to program/use such a complicated rig is in many ways a right of passage. Also, it's all about growth and raising your personal equipment/sound/playing standards as a player. If anyone in the audience hears the diff in sound or is impressed by the gear, it's just a bonus. Good for him, he's certainly evolving as a guitar player! I wish more players would follow in his footsteps. Too many musicians today are caught up in bringing the least amount of gear, putting in the least amount of effort and getting paid the most amount of money and the music/playing reflects it. Seeing this amount of effort and care put into his craft is refreshing!

Used to be able to hear every instrument in Songs about Jane. Now I can barely hear the band members. Even Adam isn't singing like Adam. Sad to see them follow trends instead of making interesting music

Not really. I mean it really is a cause of seizures for a lot of folks. Worked with a lot of folks that were seizure prone some sensitive to this & some not.

staplesmcjebus One being an idiom and the other a neurological disorder? Yes, precisely the same. Contrarians often confuse themselves as 'devils advocates' when in fact they simply wish to antagonize, of which your need to close your statement with a personal insult aptly demonstrates. Don't be that guy.
