YES!!! I was hoping for this to eventually happen. Thank you so much, buddy! =D "It's almost like the one of the 4/4 is only in the drummer's head" - man, you have no idea how accurate that statement is! While the rest of us in the band do understand what's going on at a theoretical/conceptional level, we do NOT feel this as 4/4 even if our drummer Thomas does. When rehearsing this song in order to play it live (which we've done a couple of times, but only on the most "prog-nerdy" festivals like Generation Prog) we spent more time trying to "feel" the different riff variations, rather than counting/sub-dividing them. It became a lesson in interplay rather than mathematics, which was great (at least for me). Funny side-note #1: in the band we call this section "Thomas hjärna" = "The Brain of Thomas". Funny side-note #2: Our drummer is the one with the most crazy musical/rhythmical ideas, but he's also the only one in the band that does NOT work in music full-time - he's a floor and carpet layer. Oh, and I'll gladly have an additional conversation with you about that notation stuff that we discussed. Things have happened in the notation software world since then and I'm sure we both have things to expand on with another conversation. Lastly, using the NASA/Andromeda typeface for the Patreon names, such a nice touch. Two unironical thumbs up.

Love it, appreciate you! I’m glad to be vindicated in my feeling that there is no way to hear the 4/4 haha. Thanks again for everything!

Andromeda is such an underrated gem of a band. There was a unique thing going on in the late 90s / early 2000s when it comes to prog / avant-garde metal music.

Bro, I swear, since I started my first takes in writing my own stuff, I found It very interesting looking every video of yours and made some notes that provides me new ideas and make my musical thinking more wide. I'm very lucky to find your channel.

The drummer Thomas Lejon is a drumming beast! The song Two is One from the same album is another great example.

Great band. Blink of an Eye on Chimera is one of the coolest songs I know and I always come back to it. Andromeda didn't always nail it imo, but they had some really unique prog takes and some exceptionally high highs when they did nail it.

Awesome stuff as always, so glad you're back in full swing. And hopefully that burdensome backlog means there's no end in sight to this series.

Would love to see you do some analysis on early deeds of flesh stuff like gradually melted and three minute crawlspace, also curious if you listen to them at all?
