Sufferin Dufferin

The 29 Dufferin route should really be a subway line. I know it will never happen though.

I mean all those routes that are really slow have real bad traffic on them. It’s always been like that since early 2000’s

Seeing as the city is in no rush to create dedicated bus lanes; the TTC should just jack up fares by like a dollar, but show a very tangible increase in buses that run these and other routes around the city. An increase in buses would mean shorter wait times and less crowded buses, which would mean less stops and ultimately a more consistent and pleasant commute. A pipe dream I know. The TTC routinely increases fares, yet we see a DECREASE in service, and a DECREASE in workers that are actually available at subways. Pair that with the clear increase of mental illness in the city, and we have the recipe for a truely world class transit system /s

I don't really think that it's dufferin that's slow, as part of slow route, i see constantly, year in and out that finch west towards the humberline is extremely slow, and building the tracks is not going to make a difference.

Dude , The 29 is NOT slow , only when there is construction, The streetcars need this title , those routes are the slowest !!!

I am 55 and have never had a car or license. I travelled the Cliffside 20 and subway for 25 years to and from work, before bus lanes. The way I look at it, is it's a trade off. You can either buy a car, save travel time, but work to pay for car payments, gas, insurance, etc., or take a little more time travelling public transit, but save money on car expenses. This is just like the people who choose to live 2 hours outside Toronto to save on housing costs, but then whine and moan they pay more for gas, insurance and don't have reliable high speed internet. These riders unfairly want the best of both worlds at the cost to others. They want to take a lane from vehicles and devote it to busses to inconvenience and slow down drivers so the bus will get them to their destination faster. I am sorry, I can be a bus patron, but be unbiased and realize when something is unfair.

If there’s limited road space, it just makes more sense to dedicate more of it to a bus that’s holding 50+ people vs some cars holding a couple of people. The cars also have the option of taking an alternate route, whereas the bus must run along a fixed route through the busiest areas where all the people live and work to be useful. This is especially obvious along streetcar lines where you can often see lines of streetcars with hundreds or even thousands of people who are stuck behind some idiot SUV driver turning left or a couple of drivers who are blocking up the lane. Why should hundreds of people be delayed because a few people wanted to drive?

Bingo, my friend. You just said it best ,even though whiners don`t want to hear it, because they all know it is truth.They want to pay a cent to have taxi quality ride.

So if the bus is slow and you are late for work everyday then leave home earlier and catch an earlier bus. Simple...

If the bus is so inconsistent that it sometimes takes 30 minutes to get to work and sometimes takes 60 minutes or even 90 minutes to get to work, what are you supposed to do? Leave 90 minutes early everyday and sit around for 60 minutes unpaid outside your workplace until it opens? I don’t ride the TTC too often, but during the last year, the TTC operations were so bad, that I failed to reach my destination, like, 20% of the time and ended up walking for 30-60 minutes to get where I wanted to go.

See, for some people bus is slow. for other there is no food in local food bank , all of this is result of 9 years government by Liberals/NDP
