Riding the Yorkshire Dales on the Royal Enfield Classic 350

I’m out on the Royal Enfield Classic 350, checking out a campsite ready for the better weather.
The road back via Pateley Bridge was just too good not to film!
Betsy gets to stretch her legs a bit on these quicker roads.
Here we go, enjoy the ride.
Ride safe,
Dave

I lived in York for quite many years and never had the opportunity to ride the countryside on a motorcycle... thanks for providing me with the backroads that I have missed

Great ride through some stunning scenery. Had a good ride yesterday on the North Yorks moors. Headed up to Rosedale Abbey, then over the top & down into Esk dale. Some really pretty villages there. Back over the tops on the Roman road to Pickering. I also tried the old sign post method to navigate through the outskirts of Hull, to avoid the traffic. Very frustrating, but eventually came upon something I recognised 😱

Did the same route on Saturday, came off tops then went to Scar House reservoir and then to How Stean Gourge for a coffee and a scone before following road back to Pateley Bridge. Did the same as you followed signs for Ripon and navigate the old fashioned way.

The green land is beautiful, but in the first two minutes of the video the colour of the Copper Beech trees spaced on the left of the road are extra special.👍

Hi Dave, just got back to Australia after moto touring in the Uk for 3 months. Got back, bought a Classic 350 that I pick up this morning. Looks so small sitting beside the BMW 1250 GS but I think, big on fun! Love your videos.

Some nice back country for sure. Almost picture myself on a Model A Royal Enfield in the 1930s. Place would look the same minus the tarmac . Cheers

I was out Monyash way on Wednesday with a local VMCC section and I couldn't believe how lush everywhere is this year, it looks the same up there.

Getting a bit of Groundhog Day, I’m sure there’s a bit of clip included twice with unusually named village & temporary traffic lights. Excellent scenery though

You gave me a great laugh, Dave. In the beginning of your ride, you said you were going to find your way the “old fashioned way” with sign posts. My friend’s 17 year old son said”What does he mean? How do you find out where you’re going with a sign post?” So, after we caught our breath from laughing, we tried to explain that before the time of GPS, we had to use maps and sign posts for directions. At seventeen, he’s never known anything but today’s technology. Incredible. By the way, Dave, congratulations on your upcoming retirement. It’s a wonderful thing.

Pleased you did film it, Dave and simply using finger posts to navigate so often throws up wonderful rides for you (and us) to enjoy.
