Riding the WIDOW MAKER at COUGAR PARK Tokoroa.

Спорт

I drop in to Cougar mountain bike track in Tokoroa. I haven't got long so decide to check out the widow maker track. This has a drop in it that I am keen to check out.
I am on my Specialized turbo levo.

Hey Lance, I ride at cougar all the time, and can confirm that not many people were riding it (widow maker feature) at the time, but at the last working bee they did a bit of work on it to tidy it up and now very rideable! Hit us up next time your coming over and we can guide you round! 👍😁

Rode the park last week, Yeah its a confusing park to get around. even the markings on the provided maps don't really make it easy on your first time around. But i did enjoy the tracks a lot. I will defiantly ride there again next time i pass through town. also the fact that its basically just off the main road makes it a great park to visit.

The funny thing with bike parks that don't have a central chairlift is they are often confusing at first. After your first visit it seems so straight forward.

There is a bunch of new trails out the back including a big grade 5 jump line plus more grade 3 and 4 trails. The park it's self is quite large with good trails, but it's poorly mapped. Locals are friendly and will show you where to go.

Hi Lance I watched your test of the Moterra 1 a few months ago and am now considering buying one. Could you tell me how you found the sizing,I’m 6ft and usually buy a large size,I’ve a 2018 levo at the moment. I’ve been told the Moterra is sized a wee bit on the small side, any advice would be appreciated

  • @bestdayevermtb2

I am just over 5foot 10. I have a levo size large. The reach is 455. The reason I felt good on the cannondale was it felt to me incredibly similar to the levo. Both have 66 degree head angles. I thought the reach was the same but just checked a web site called geometrygeeks.bike and it has the 2020 moterra at 470 reach so slightly longer than your bike. Hope that helps.
