RIDING THE SUNFLOWER MINE LOOP

SouthwestORV invited me on a ride that did NOT disappoint! If you are in AZ and looking for a great winter ride, the Sunflower Mine Loop can't be passed up! Forest roads, creek crawling, potential snow, a historic mine, caves, slow steep climbs, branch ducking, possibly some mud, and high peaks at the end to top it off! We loved the ride! Go Boondock Patrol!

Wow that road has changed so much over the years. I used to drive to the mine in my 2002 Silverado about 20 years ago and it didnt get rough until after the mine. It couldn't make it now. There used to be so much more to see at the mine before those idiots burned it down when they started a wildfire below while having a bachelor party.

No, but if you google mount ord, you take the turnoff just northwest across the 87 onto forest road 626, then right on beeline to forest road 201 head north. Sorry, no gps.

Been there, done that, sadly I didn’t feel more “manly” on the CRF250F than the quad or sxs.
