You rode the way I would. Toddling along with the nuts. Watching them risk their necks. I personally don't have the skill or courage to ride the way they do... As Clint Eastwood said... "A man's gotta know his limitations" Mine are comically abundant and I have learned them the hard way. Being hit in the face at speed by a bug the size of a Cicada is startlingly painful. It feels like a rock. I had never thought of owning a Rebel but your videos are intriguing. At my age, given the limitations imposed by arthritic hands, the DCT version with no manual clutch and the cruise control has real appeal.

Thanks for the laughter with you and those big Cicadas. 😃

Burch, QuasiMotard, and On The Rebel 1100 make some great 1100 content. Each has their own “style of delivery” but these guys are pretty much the standard and all do fantastic work.

A new subscriber here,I'm loving the bike rides them bugy things were awful lol,oh but yal were having so much fun,,i use to have the old model rebel now it looked like a little Harley and i loved it but in the country my highest speed was 50 lol and i did dress right, full helmet jacket boots ,i keep watching your channel and now I'm wanting another one, i don't like to ride on back with anyone being someone flipped me once and i said forget that and got my own but over time i let someone ride it and well that was that lol,,keep posting I'll keep watching and wishing, i sure do want one i miss seeing the older model look

Hey Burch, I passed my riders safe course and got one point deducted due to not putting it in first when stopping between the cones. But I’ve got the deposit on the rebel 500 and I’ll be getting in a week or two 😁😁

I am definitely interested in this bike, I have a GSXR but work and a long commute i cant keep putting that extra strain on my back. Anyway of making this sit more upright and have you looked into overriding the governor?

You should get the Olympia Dallas mesh jacket. Comes with CE level 2 armor and it's only like 160 bucks. I'm wearing it in the summer here and it's awesome.

It’s bearable, but still not as comfy as I had hoped. I plan on possibly having it redone with some gel/foam at a local upholstery shop most likely.

I also lived in Baltimore for a time, and even what you all considered hot there doesn't even begin to compare to Florida XD Seriously, get the Olympia Dallas jacket. :-) you'll thank me later

Which jacket do you use? I have a mesh Joe Rocket jacket, but I don’t think it goes well with the cruiser styling. It looks more like a sport bike jacket in my opinion so I’ve been trying to find another.

@@LifeOfBurch Maybe the Merlin Shenstone Air Jacket might be more to your liking. Highly pleased with it so far. Still kind of sporty, but in a classic way that wouldn’t look out of place on a cruiser, especially in the olive colour. Also comes with back protector included.

I love it! The Rebel keeps up without any issues. If they start going over 100 then obviously I’m SOL, but other than that she keeps up just fine! And is probably way more comfortable in the process 😂

@@LifeOfBurch Right on. I've been torn if it's worth going to a rebel1100 from an XSR700(MT07 motor) since I want something cruiserish but sporty handling to do fine in twisties. But I also need a little more power.

I’ve never ridden an XSR700, but from what I’ve seen, the Rebel would be a great next step for you! It’s a cruiser with all the fancy new technology and creature comforts, more power than what you’re on, and still has a punchy twin motor like you’re used to!

Believe it or not the new Chief handles a dream. I found it to turn in more nimble and smooth than even the smaller Rebels. Haven’t ridden a scout yet but I’d test ride both of you can!

So cicadas are actually really interesting- they come out in huuuge numbers, but only every 17 years, and they only stay around for about a month before dying off. So they’ve already started dying off and then we won’t see them like this again until 17 years from now. Crazy stuff! Definitely worth reading up on if you have the time.

Cicadas are actually TOTALLY different from June Bugs! They come out in droves every 17 years, and this year was one of them. They’re gnarly!

You're talking way too much

I have been riding motorcycles since age 8 (started on a small dirt bike) I am now 62, and have seen some bikes I didn't like the looks of. Mostly crotch rockets. But the new Honda "Rebels" take the cake for UGLY. I have never seen anything that come close to matching the Rebel as far as ugly goes. That scooter thing they called the NM-4 or "Vultus" was bad, really bad. But not as ugly as the Rebel by a long way. The Rebel is by far the ugliest motorcycle ever made, period. Going all the way back to the beginning. I have to wonder how a company that has made so many beautiful bikes could have made something so hideous. I've seen rat bikes that were made ton be as ugly as possible that looked much better than the Rebel. It could easily win any rat bike contest for ugliest bike. Right off the showroom floor.
