Riding the cab of NKP 765
On August 29, 2009 I was fortunate to ride the cab of NKP 765 during a photo runby at Carland, Michigan. Engineer Mike Manwiller and fireman Mark St. Auben have her hooked up and barking gloriously. Please forgive the shaking as 765 can give a bit of a rough ride, especially from that little box seat I was on wedged behind the injector.

Awesome ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Gives a good feel for the noise level and and vibration in a typical steam locomotive cab. Add icy draughts in northern winters and it wasn't such a great environment in which to spend your working life.
Here's a thought. Imagine how the CSX pilot engineer's that rode in that seat at 60 mph on the New River Trains of the early 90's felt.
