    Have the same issue on my riding lawnmower. Dude, that is a fricking great DIY fix and it adjustable. If it ever comes loose, just adjust and tighten again. That is well thought out on your part. I may have angled the bars out towards the front though instead of towards the back. I know with lock washers that they would stay put.

    Looks like those ball-joints are pretty loose! You could also just replace the drag-links and spindles. But for a low-dollar quick-fix. That looks like it works.

  • @PainterD54
    @PainterD543 ай бұрын

    That's only a temporary fix. It will still be able to bend and go out of alignment eventually. You are better off to straighten it and weld an reinforcement plate between the spindle and the flat piece that is bent. That way it can't bend like it did in the first place.

    We tried this and thought it was a great idea, but the tierod (arm) hits the pulley and produces sparks. Any other suggestions?

  • @scottfirman
    @scottfirman3 жыл бұрын

    If the wheel bushings are badly worn, it will affect the toe in. I can use your method if worse comes to worse. As long as the tire sits centered is fine with me and the owner. A new Spindle is not cheap.

    What keeps the plate from moving ? When you bolt a plate on a angle it has the option for movement

    I welded a plate with 4 holes drilled for adjustment to avoid what is going to happen when this kids bolts loosen up over time due to vibration and use(repetitive turning of the wheels). His fix will work in a pinch but a welded plate will last and be adjustable,much longer. Just saying. You can pick up a cheap mig welder from harbor freight for around $100 and it can be used to fix many things in the future.

    the manufacturers make these rods garbage on purpose $ if they wanted people to adjust it they would have installed adjustable screw style rods. the rods are going to continue to warp with impact this fix permanently counteracts that

    @@joeydollas I'm sorry that needs more explanation, crushed by a tree? You said the lawnmower was crushed by a tree. Is it an epidemic of falling trees crushing stuff over there?

  • @joeydollas

    @joeydollas

    4 жыл бұрын

    Haha okay so a couple months ago a hurricane-like thunderstorm hit my town with no warning. Trees fell, transformers blew, everything. The mini quad was stored in my friends shed, and a tree fell on that. The mower in this video was parked under a tree and that tree fell on it.
