Matt you know me I’m a Dad of few words. Thank you for putting together our awesome road trip to Sedona and Moab. It was an amazing bucket list trip for which I will be eternally grateful. The video. Of course I loved it I have watched it many times seeing something different every time, marveling at how you have pieced everything together. I am one very lucky Dad. One question. Did you not have some kind of filter to make me look not so old and arthritic. Lol❤❤❤
Fantastic!! I raised my daughter similarly, and we still run together. At 22, she joined me on mountain bikes, a year ago. I'm 60 and looking forward to more adventures with her.
As a dad of 3, I hope my kids do the same for me as you have done to yours!!! Hell yea guys keep shredding
Enjoy you dad while you can. Being a friend to your parents as an adult is priceless. I still think, "I'll have to ask Dad about...... Oh crap; that right. It is too late now."

So very true. I second this comment!
so sick and fair play to your father still riding at 70. always great when to have someone else in your family to guide you into the great sport. keep shredding y'all🤟🤙
Your dad is a legend.
Sadly not managed to get my two kids to continue biking but being in my early 50s and rediscovering MTB over the last few years seeing your dad shred that trail give me hope that if I carry on they may join me in the years to come. 🤘🤪👌
‘93 was my first trip to Moab, went back last year and did the Whole Enchilada at 52, on a hardtail. Don’t ever stop doing it!

First trip to Moab was 87 for the second fat tire fest. Moved here in ‘99. I ride every day at 76yo.
Thanks for this. I rode this with my dad back in '92 when I was 14. He can't ride anymore, but I'll be sure to get out there with my sons as soon as they're up for it.
Nicely done Jason. Every father /son that love mtn biking should get to Moab at least once. Memories are definitely made there!
Its cool to see you and your dad bond like that. I wish I could've rode bikes with my dad back when I was an adult and out of the angsty teenager phase.
Great vid, my oldest son and I (28/55) early on did BMX, MX and ATV. We currently do MTB SoCal parks and local trails. Our latest adventure was to Luiseno Bike Park!
Awesome video! You guys are making the best mountain bike content on KZread right now. Keep killing it!
Solo'd this spring '94. March '09 spring break brought my squib along to watch him clean everything with me in vintage shoes, titanium and gearing. I must have taken a few bad lines limping in at the finish. The loose sand was really deep that spring.
This is so sick! Right around the same time period, my dad would go ride that trail with his college buddies. Fast forward 22 years, and him and I went to ride it together, and recreate some of the photos he took with his buddies. Absolutely amazing to see this and relive those memories!!
OH man.... that was FANTASTIC! cheers nothing is more beautiful than father and son memories
that's pretty inspiring that you and your dad get to do that. Ride safe dude!
Omg. So much about that is just awesome. The shot of your 70 yr old dad at the end with a bloody shin absolutely inspires me!
Nice! Not many things better than being able to ride epic locations w our children! I’m 64 and trying to convince my boys to do a Moab or Sedona trip w me🤷♂️
pure love! great to watch!
Absolutely awesome
Great video. I had my kids check out some of Slickrock in '16. Wish we could have done the whole thing. Next time maybe? That section at 3:00 is even more exciting on a tandem!
Great job. I remember Slickrock in 1985…no parking lot, but the trail was the same. Did it last in about 2015. Always a great ride.
the production quality of your vidoes are top notch - add in the incredible content and this makes for one of the best MTB channels out there.
What a rad video! I know us mountain biking dads dream of having times like this with our kids even they're older. Great stuff!
Love this video. Thanks Matt and MattDad.
I ride with my son.... it's great to bond over something so enjoyable..
Those climbs at Slickrock are crazy. Slickrock is probably the only surface where you'd have the traction to climb something that steep. My chest cam was going into my bars.
This video was fantastic! What a cool idea and experience to share!
This is amazing, I love this!
This is SO COOL!!! 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾Plus dad still riding and just eating up those climbs at 70 WHAT?? INSPIRING! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Sounds like you guys have an awesome relationship, hope my son holds the time we spend as dear as you clearly do.
just awesome
Simply AWESOME!!!
Awesome, I hope to be like your dad...still shredding at 70!! I first went to Moab in 1997, what great memories...recently rode it again also last year and I'll be back many more times!
I wish I could do this with my dad. Teared me up bro.
Love this!
Sick! Indescribable feeling I’m sure. Great video! 🤙🏼
So Sick! Keep Killing it Ya'll 🤘
It's so sentimental! I wish I will have same experience with my kido)
trust me when i say that this is one really cool dad!
awesome video! my son is 7 and i hope to be as good as your dad was with you!
Neither my daughter or my son took up my passion for mountain bikes and motorcycles. But we do share other interests and have had the pleasure of travelling with them on numerous trips as adults which is truly priceless as you mentioned in this video. I did get to Moab with friends a couple of times...who knows, maybe my next trip will be with my currently 16 month old grandson some time in the future!....now that would be epic!
Love it!
That's so awesome! Me and my Dad used to go biking allot when I was younger. 😄
Brilliant! 👌🏼
I never knew my dad bikes came to me as transport to the hockey rink cameras came way after but imagine. A kid with a hockey bag on like a back pack flying down a street. …the fact is I wish I had the camera. I won the first go pro at a MTB race but used it for after a bad health issue to film me riding my bike to gain strength not great videos slow and boring but it was me gaining strength back
Teaching my girls to ride and race as we speak. I pray I will be riding with them in 30 years!
"It's never too late to keep going." I think I'll be using that one quite a bit
This is excellent. Great storytelling as always! I have a love/hate relationship with slickrock personally.
I love this video ❤
This was awesome! I wish your videos were longer…..
What a great video
beautiful
so sick
Great video, I enjoyed watching your replica last year as well. Savor every moment you can, they won't last forever. What I wouldn't give to have more opportunities to enjoy fun and exciting experiences with my dad.
ur dad rocks haha. hope to be in that shape at his age.
Nice! I just rode Whistler with my two boys...I'm 62! No reason to stop riding, although everyone tells you its too dangerous...ha ha
really nice family :)
This is super touvhing. And cool!!! I wish my son will do something similar for me.
Sweet!
very cool!
Having visited Moab numerous times over the last 20 years the only time we ride slickrock trail is when we have someone with us that has never mountain bikes in Moab. Otherwise, I’ll pass on that 99% climbing trail 😂
Yeeees 👏👏👏✌️
Cool
Back in the 90’s….we camped at the base of that cliff you were looking over. Heard a huge BANG and saw the 1st of 2 base jumper’s opened chute coming across the river right at us. Helped them pack up their chutes and get out of there right before the BLM rangers showed up. Got it all on 8mm😊
I gotta show this to my dad. He’s loved cycling all his life, but keeps refusing to get into mountainbiking (even though he used to get PRETTY rowdy on his trekking bike). At some point, it’s gotta click for him!
Very cool story! I first rode Slickrock in 92 on a fully rigid Team Stumpjumper. Moved here in 99, got married and had a son who's been riding Slickrock since age 5. This had given me some fun ideas for my next Slickrock installment. Here's my last kzread.info/dash/bejne/mHukmNGsiKuwZdI.html Cheers!
🌞
doing an anual fahtersday mtb ride with my dad, he is now 73 and im 33 👍
Did your father enjoy that trip as we were while watching it?
Moar Dad
Does anyone know the name of this trail in Moab?
