RR7 is indeed rotary powered, intentionally or not lol Nevermind, Ridge racer series always wasn't about realism, so i dont mind these sounds, they have their arcadeish unrealistic charm

honestly, i've heard worse racing game engine sounds then what exist in RR7. i quite like how this game sounds, actually.

I think I'll stick to Ridge Racer 6 car sounds, mainly because at least they sound distinct from one another and is actually fitting on a vehicle you drive on, especially the Danver Hijack almost sounding like a Dodge Ram SRT10 At least the mobile port of this game, Ridge Racer Slipstream gave them back distinct engine sounds, although the Danver Hijack has a V8 now

Seems like all cars in RIDGE RACER 7 sounded like Mazda RX-7 but with different pitch tones.

I love the distinct cat sounds, but it's weird how they're in the same pitch with different variations of engines. Also, the Age Abeille sounds like a 5 rotor wankel engine.

90 percent of all 50 cars in RR7 sounded like the same car.

I wish they kept the sound from the ridge race psp for the Raggio

My favorite sounds are the Fatalita, Jujak, Meltfire, RC410, and Crinale. Despite the fact that they all have the same pitch to their engine sounds.

Sounds like a quad-rotor engine.

To be fair I think it was Tetsukazu Nakanishi who designed the engine sounds, as well as other Ridge Racer games. Rotary sounds fine imo, I can only imagine what they’d sound like if we finally got another title with new tech.

After I hear closely, I confirmed there are many distinctive sounds every cars, and tbh, Prophetie turbo sound is so mppss...

It's the same sound, but with different equalizer settings applied. I like how the Crinale (20:06) sounds very BASSY. IMO, the PSP Ridge Racer engine sound is the best!

These cars don’t sound good for some reason in Ridge racer 6 Ridge racer 7 is actually better but it’s just my opinion. Thank you for making this video

It seems all like all of the cars here have the same engine sound more less. Just high or lower pitch which is boring. None to distinguish what is a V6 or 4 cyl or V8

RR4 is not good either. The car sounds almost similar and the drift sound get pitched up when drift with too much angle.
