Listen, I know PTSD is a horrid thing, but I'm pretty sure most war vets wouldn't steal a gas tanker, crash it into an electric power plant, and blow it up, all while commiting mass murder of innocent civilians or cops that could aid Jake, all in order to depower a high-voltage fence defending a field.

That's not what PTSD does though.

The only good & the most memorable part of this game is Jake's INSANE logic of how to turn off an electric fence, by comitting a terrorist attack at the local dam. There needs to be more games that give you an overkill option for solving basic puzzles that require common sense, as a secret joke solution to the problem.

While certainly offensively bad, the game is also hilariously entertaining in the worst way! It comes full circle and becomes a "The Room" like trainwreck. I'd recommend playing this over something like Batman Dark Tomorrow or Drake and the 99 Dragons.

Ironically, IMHO the best motorcycle game ever - Road Rash 64 - had very basic, rudimentary menus and UI. Like THQ wanted as little effort put into it as possible as long as it's functional and not buggy.

The only thing I like about the game - retro advertising aesthetics of UI. It doesn't look like a cheap parody, the style reproduced accurately and with a good amount of attention to details. It's a pity that the same approach didn't apply to the game itself(

Colt: where’d he get that vest from? Smarter Jake: He just bought it from a thrift shop. Colt: oh, is that all? In that case, you’re free to go. And I’d recommend the kid ditch the vest. The guy it used to belong to made a lot of enemies. Smarter Jake: thanks for the tip. Don’t worry, you won’t see it or us again.

Fun Fact: On the PC version, If you disable mouse acceleration in the .ini files (because you can't in the options) The Crosshair and Point of Aim will desynchronize, making it almost impossible to shoot anything. Which is probably the reason you can't disable it in the game.

That's only slightly less weird than what happened if you allow Skyrim to run at >100 FPS instead of limiting it to 60 as is default. Ingame time desynchronizes from clock time; so the clock will after some days say it is 1 AM while the sun clearly shows its around noon. Also if the framerate is high enough there are massive physics bugs and the horse cart ride will tip upside down and softlock the game; pots and pans will fly off shelves and sometimes kill you.

Crazy how this game has the exact same plot set up as Mafia 3 Shortly after the protagonist returns from Vietnam in the 60s, his family get murdered in cold blood by a gang. The rest of the game is about getting revenge on said gang. The main difference being Ride to Hell features bikers and Mafia is about... the Mafia

@@pchtommy1268 And RtH was going to be a GTA-like game; shortly after the original protagonist (Roy) returns from Vietnam in the 60s, he find out that his world have changed. He would soon join a Biker Gang named Devil’s Hand: this would start the game’s adventure, with the mission to earn respect for the gang, to make it grow and heighten your reputation as one of the best bikers. This had effects on gameplay and on the game’s NPCs, with other bikers following you as a posse, drivers being weary about you and Police trying to arrest your gang. All depending on how you would play.

I replayed the part with Grandpappy pulling out that guitar perhaps a little more than I should.

I saw Angry Joe's and Projared's review of this game and I saw a copy of this at the local pawn shop. I asked to look at it mentioning that I knew it was bad. The owner said "You want to look at a game you know is bad?" I know someone else bought the game and I feel so sorry for that guy.

Honestly if I saw a physical copy of this game anywhere in good condition I would legitimately buy it simply because of the fact it's an artifact at this point. A monument of pure, terrible shittiness permanently enshrined into a corporeal form, a piece of video game history that would eventually be left behind if not for it's own, singular existence in my hands. Kind of like the game P.N.03 from the old CAPCOM 5, which was, while perfectly playable, graphically smooth and bug-free, so bland and unremarkable that almost no one even remembers it, but I have a copy my dad got my all those years ago, still in perfectly pristine condition. Pieces of history, good or bad.

The Board James effect is starting to take its' toll on Shane (and possibly Adam, too)...

The sad thing is that. In 2008 it's sounds amazing. I remember being really excited for it, just like the Las Vegas game. Sometimes it better to just cancel the game or start over.

There was actually a cut reason for Jake recovering from the bullets after Mikey's death. According to some scrapped material, the reason why Jake survives getting shot multiple times after Mikey is killed is because he was experimented on in Vietnam.

Okay, so, I think I might know the reason why all the "sex" scenes are fully clothed. Now, this is just speculation, so I could be wrong, but I think it was due to rating complications. I think the sex scenes were initially meant to be, at the very least, partially nude. This is because, after some people have dug through the game files, a model of the first girl was found without her top, with fully modeled, ehm, bajimbos. However, I think that, if the sex scenes were to be left in with the nude model, the ESRB most likely would have given the game an 'Adults Only' rating, which would have prevented it from being released on consoles. So, instead of just removing these scenes and adding actual health and ammo pick-ups, they just placed the clothed models on the animation rigs, because the devs just couldnt make this game without the objectification of women.

Yep, AO means no release on consoles. PC release is possible, but Euthecnyx (?) would have had to set up their own website storefront to sell the PC version, because Steam won't carry it.

I honestly kept mistaking them for being like a spinoff of VOX, or any of those other trashy blog sites that try to get into gaming. These guys are actually really good(and if they ARE somehow involved with one of these sites, they're likely the only redeeming quality of whatever site they're from)

Just to give you an idea how bad the shooting is: Me and a friend spent an hour getting a trophy that requires you to hit every target on a firing range.

I think it's purely because of their non consistency in uploading, it does take a while to produce something good, but youtube doesn't like it when you are a quantity over quality. They will give you attention, but not nearly enough that you'd deserve.

The story and the look of the game sounds and looks interesting and it really could have been great, it's too bad the execution of the gameplay, the storytelling and how the game was made where really bad! If Rockstar Games had been behind this one, the game and the storytelling would have been better and great!

I'm surprised Eutechnix didn't have some decent driving phisics, they were quite good at it back in the day, Street Racing Syndicate is certainly not the best tuning game ever, but it's probably one of the most reallistic when it comes to driving

@@camero4134 That's actually true, that wasn't the best example, what about Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, I've played it on the Wii and it feels like a serious racing simulator, they also did Nascar games but I didn't play those, they also worked on Auto Club Revolution, wich didn't receive a full release but was also quite realistic.

Hell, even around that time (2010-2015), if there was one thing the Eutchnyx-developed NASCAR games had, it was really good player car physics.

I always enjoy the edits where you're showcasing something bad and it's just awkward silence throughout. So funny and makes me laugh every time.

19:29 is one of the best things I've seen in 40 years of gaming.

I'd like to say, despite the countless reviews and talking about this game i dont think i've ever heard any of them mention anything about "the second half" of the game just about every review i've personally seen stops on the last brother killer. Also i've never heard a single person mention the DLC which is really suprising, as that really changes the view of the game devs, since if they just dropped the game itself and abandoned it, it could at least be seen as them just wanting to wash their hands of a failed ambitious product. But the fact the realeased DLC really shows they dont care about quality, and just wanted more money. This review really puts this game in a whole new perspective. Rerez keep up the good work , you're JBG is honestly the best way to learn about some of these games. too many other youtubers focus on making their "review" funny instead of actually showing the game.

I watched a stream of someone playing through this game. At one point he suddenly started constantly failing to slide under obstacles. Some people came up with the theory that since this started happening after he customized the bike, maybe that actually alters the bike's hitbox and can make it impossible to successfully do the slides.

Ride To Hell Retribution was probably programmed by the Glitch Gremlin.

21:40 - That's insulting to the poor N64, at least it _tried_ to render textures with the best detail possible, which admitedly wasn't much considering the puny and slow memory of the N64 paired with a small cartridge, but this piece of sh!t doesn't render at all!

You know when you have watched these episodes too much when someone comes into your store with a box of games, you dig through them and see this one - all of a sudden a montage of this episode plays in your head with one of those money ghosts appearing with "not worth it" and then farting out of existence.

Aside from just being incompetently made, this game is like a microcosm of everything wrong with early 2010's video games: - constant railroading when the game lies to you about making it look like you can explore; - instant-death quick-time events that just plop you right before said QTE if you did, making it both pointless in tedious (in the form of the powergliding, which let's be honest here is just a glorified QTE); - over-reliance on QTEs to compensate for lazy gameplay in general; - poorly thought-out over-the-shoulder camera that's too zoomed in to be useful in third person but not zoomed in enough for FPS mechanics; - random poorly integrated non-standard gameplay segments with repetitive, tedious mechanics that just make you wonder when you'll be able to go back to the actual game and make you wonder what developer actually finds them fun; - the audacity to make DLC before fixing anything in the core game when said core game is an unfinished broken mess. I'm honestly shocked it doesn't have a "real is brown" aesthetic with depth of field that make everything blurry and glare that blinds you constantly, but that's probably because the graphics were made in 2008...

@@TangerineWallaby343 what is your question? Those are fun things to do, and being that it's GTA, there's always cars to drive too if you feel like it. I'd get bored of the motorcycle before long so I'd take breaks every mission or 2 and cause mayhem with cars.
