Ride the Rails in a Motorcar!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Some train enthusiasts like to preserve old railroad equipment and keep it running, while others are interested in the railways themselves and the amazing sights you can see along the right-of-way.
But there's also another group of people who combine those two things into a very unique hobby!
A big thanks to Ben Harrell for talking with me about his hobby. Check out his channel below!

This is gonna be a future hobby for sure.
It was cool, as a kid, to see a MOW / Speeder come down the tracks. A few years ago I saw a high-railer being put on the tracks. It was a much more complex procedure than I imagined.
A K5HA on a speeder? Doesn't make much sense but still very cool to say the least!
I had to chuckle when I saw the young lady (just before the 4:00 mark) playing with her phone during what would likely be a once-in-a-lifetime ride.
This was both Very Cool and Very Interesting. I can see why there would be so much Interest. 👍
It kinda looks like a glimpse into an alternate universe where the automotive industry flopped completely, and people just drove these speeders on a much denser railroad system. Imagine seeing houses with railways instead of driveways
My mom used to call these MOW speeders "Putt Putts".
Sign me up for a ride. That would be awesome to ride the rails at a slower speed with a open cab. Once again another great video. Can’t wait for the next video.
Thankful you referred to them as Motor Cars. I’m off the N&W side of NS and no one here has ever called them a speeder.
Couple friends have Southern , NW , Clinchfield , Seaboard , motorcars . I've yet but one due price and maintence cost and time keeping it around house plus trailer not cheap buy it's some cost own and operate . Great video .
I have an espee one. They are awesome. Coos bay line is the best event...coming in October!!!
They also do this some times at the Mineral Bluff Depot on the old Southern Murphy Branch they done it back in July around the 2nd I went and they had a BRSR motor car and a handcar it was fun
Cool! I was looking around earlier trying to find your finished product - it's really great. Very different style than mine - great looking footage. I notice I make a couple "cameos" by accidently walking into your shot a couple times - sorry! Again - great job.
