    Love the new wrap and roll cage. Very insightful to see how it's done, and understand the level of effort that goes into planning, designing, an building/applying! Thanks for sharing. At one point on the ride ... the wrap was pure tennessee mud which looked awesome also! Nice team effort and creativity with new york Mike.... gotta be comforting when out on those trails to know that there is such a skilled group to handle the situations as then come! Looking forward to Day 2.

    Thanks for tuning in! I've been workin my butt off to get all caught up and current with the videos and I'm almost there! Hoping that once I'm caught up I can be a lot faster with the videos and upload pretty soon after we do a ride. This is day one of three from our recent trip to Tennessee this past March. The weather sucked and we ran into issue after issue. Sometimes that's just the way it goes off-road though. It's still an awesome time out on the trails with good friends. Stay tuned for the next episode, we head to the Tackett Creek trail system and the weather cleans up. I'm hoping to plan a lot more trip all over the United States and Canada in the months to come. I also want to plan a subscriber ride in the future so we can all get together, ride and film some awesome videos. Hope you enjoy the video. Wow !! I had a bad night. The first one was stupid. I was going way too fast and didn't see how deep the ruts were and fell over. That second one was bad. We hit hard. I guess I got a little upset and I'm sorry for that. It happens. I'm glad my crew can handle these situations because we have them. Side note, the starting issue was a bad solenoid. That just added to the aggravation factor. I may have had a bad night, but I wouldn't trade this for anything. Thanks, Julian for another great video. I can't wait to make more.

    Best, and I mean best, content for trailing on KZread !!!!!! I live in East Texas so everything is muddy and I Absolutely hate it. So I literally plan my rides when it is dry as possible. I have only had the starter switch get silly on me if if I let the car sit for a few weeks without starting it. I just wiggle the connection near the master cylinder and it seems to work. Vasoline the connection and have never had that trouble again. I live for night riding. It's "spooky". I have a front facing 30000 lumens and 12000 rear facing. I could literally check you for cancer !!!! LMAO !!!! Again, Amigo !!!! Thank you for all the hard work it takes to post this great content. #1 in my book !!!!! 🙂

    This is how the majority of our trips go. You really don’t need a lot of tools to completely tear down a machine on the trail. You just need to know what gear you need for your machine and a little know how. A lot of guys are surprised when you do a quick cv boot swap out during a trail side snack break. Sure wrecks a trip if you’re out of commission on day one of a trip because you have to take it to the dealer for repairs.

  • @AdrenalineJunkieProd

    Ya, I agree. I feel that if you want to ride advanced or harder terrain you need to have at least a basic level of mechanical skills. I don't mind doing trail side repairs when something breaks, I consider it part of the experience. As long as you have the basic necessities to get it done you can easily salvage your day or even your weekend. If anyone in the group needs help and I can assist I always will. Getting things fixed quickly and properly benefits everyone in the group.

The crank, the main bearings were loose on both cylinders and it destroyed the motor. Then i was asked when i replaced the head? I never replaced the head. I bought it brand new with 0 miles on it and i wouldnt mess with the motor. So now its just a giant paper weight needing a motor. Almost 4k for the motor and 2.4k for labor. By the way, nice job keeping Mike calm. Question: why didn't you guys install one of those new axles Mike had strapped to his machine, while you had it apart? Was it because of the axle part still stuck in the rear diff? What tool would you use to remove that? Also this was a great reminder to not only carry spare parts but the tools to change them.

  • @AdrenalineJunkieProd

    @AdrenalineJunkieProd

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks man, it's easy to get flustered after a roll. It's the crews job to help get the person in a tough spot back on track. We couldn't get the axle cup out of the transmission. There is a tool called an "axle magic" that is made for removing them. It's basically a fancy slide hammer. I just have a set of vice grips at home that I welded a big slide hammer too, that works well also. You can buy a set of vice grips with a slide hammer on them but they are a rip off so I just made some. We knew if we kept going we would be asking for more trouble so we just decided to double back since it wasn't far from the road and we fixed it all in the morning back at camp. We usually carry an "axle magic" with us or the vice grip slide hammer cause a spare axle is no good if you cant get the old pieces out.

    We couldn’t get the axle out of the transmission. We had an “axle magic” back at the house but we forgot to bring it out on the trail. Also, since it broke the way we did we wanted to make sure it wasn’t a bent trailing arm so we didn’t just destroy another axle. Since we weren’t very far from the road we decided it was best to just double back and call it a night and address the repairs properly in the morning.

Was it just one bad incident you had? I’ve never had anyone comment about an issue like that before. What happened? If the boot is off I’d remove the axle and clean the joint out really well. Inspect the boot for damage. If it’s not damaged and it’s just a failed clamp repack it with CV grade grease and reinstall the boot properly. Are you sure it’s the steering column clicking? Could be a bad ujoint in the column. Not much else could be wrong. The rad being full doesn’t mean the level is proper. Go based off the cold fill line on the reservoir.
