I recently acquired a 68 T120R, found it tucked way back in the corner of a barn, where it had sat since 1980, still had the keys hanging in the switch, its in pretty bad shape but it's still in original condition and all there, only shows 7 thousand and some change on the clock, my plan is to bring it back to its original glory, to the super bike it once was, I'm told by many the 68 was the opitumy triumph of the bonneville line, I know I love it and it has found a better and 4ever home,

Great sounding T120. Today I just took delivery of a 1972 Bonneville 650 4-speed with 10,000 miles on it. All original except the tires and battery.

Love that bike. Many great memories riding on the back of the ‘68 Bonnie with my Dad as a little boy. And when I got older I really enjoyed the Bonnie when Dad handed it down to me. I still have the Bonnie out in the garage and this vid encourages me to start the restoration.

I now have seen so many videos about British bikes I got to take care not riding/driving on the left side as well. There is nothing worse than Sunday drivers who are still on the road on Wednesday.

Now THAT one sounds sweet. Not sure about all the dodgy switchgear though. Give it some welly, ffs. In the early noughties I used to thrash my UK '67 along the M40 at 100+ mph. Believe me, it felt like 150. Then stuff started happening: the Lucas rotor began to move relative to its core and thus started chewing away at the crankshaft keyway; the third gear dogs in the gearbox had rounded (not me, guv) which then knackered the camplate. The final ignominy came in August 2003, the hottest day in the history of the universe, when the big ends squealed and started knocking. All fixable if you have the money and know a specialist. T120 DU61759 will live to fight another day.

Gorgeous!.. my dream bike. Are they as unreliable and do they leak oil as much as people say?.. or is it a case of not being rebuilt properly?.. either way it wouldn't put me of buying one

If they are put together properly and well maintained they are ok but my advice would be to buy a TR6, they are easier to live with due to the single carb with very little loss of performance.

I would offer that your self description is a bit off. More like arrogant yank. The tank is US, silencers stock, turn signals after market as opposed to your statement they are UK. And you can label me as, oh I don't know, the intelligent American based simply upon the statement to which I'm responding.
