MacLeod it also shows us that as people we arnt comfortable with the concept of death and unless you’ve been through it can’t possibly understand the processes of grief and that there is no time limit on grief, all the feelings that come with it, anger, sorrow, bitterness, then we get the other end of the spectrum with his dad who is old and just a living shell, but still deserves kindness and respect but feeling the way he does tony is obviously questioning why his wife was taken who was so vibrant and his dad is left alive with no real life, the horrible unfairness of life ☹️ but it does happen unfortunately ☹️☹️☹️

Ricky is my favorite celebrity because of his work against animal cruelty and After Life is real good show on Netflix.

He definitely has Misophonia. It’s actually quite awful, because harmless sounds can set us off. The earplug solution really would help. I have a hard time going to movie theaters because of hearing everyone make crunching noises (and people staring at their bright phone screens but that’s just me lol) so definitely couldn’t bring ear plugs there. But when traveling they’re a life saver!

I have misophonia/hyperacusis as well. I've recently ordered some Vibes earplugs and am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I've heard good things about them. They're sposed to somehow dull sounds but not muffle them & they're clear in colour so shouldn't be too noticeable, unlike chunky headphones. I'm hoping they're as helpful as people say. It will make shopping centres less annoying.

@@123mcgarrigle Go and read on it. Misophonia is a newly discovered thing. But most people who have it become very angry when hearing chewing or breathing etc... I use ear plugs a lot.

@@bothellkenmore It depends on how your brain is wired. Some of us have very acute hearing & also difficulty tuning out background noise. Earplugs can be useful for us. If that's not how you're wired then you probably can just tune out the unwanted noise.

Sometimes I feel like Ricky is the only person on Earth that gets me. & the humor just the cherry on top. I love his show 😁

I love Gervais! He’s so authentic and has no fear of the true. About others or himself. Shows how genuine it is. But I’m bias because I can’t stand noise/dumb/disrespectful people. Have ear plugs in my bag, pockets and purse... and eye mask also 🙃

I have watched both series of afterlife and it is just brilliant. Cried and laughed throughout. Ricky's ability to project such grief and sadness was perfect and i wondered where he drew that level of pain from. His tears brought on mine every time. I loved how the lives of the people he met changed due to their interactions with him. 10 out of 10.

Misophonia, or “hatred or dislike of sound,” is characterized by selective sensitivity to specific sounds accompanied by emotional distress, and even anger, as well as behavioral responses such as avoidance. I also noticed that i react to mildly disturbing sounds very strong, especially if they are repetitive . Since i know i am not alone, i feel a bit less crazy :D (earplugs do help, i could't sleep without them)

Yeah, I have it too. If you've watched the series theres a few scenes where Gervais loses gets highly irritated due to how people eat. It's the exact same issue I have and it seriously makes me angry and distracted, lol.

I feel so seen. misophonia is real! certain voices, noises, overheard conversations, etc can send me into a true rage. I usually ignore it but sometimes I do snap and call it out. Omg the yawn 🤣🤣🤣

I so relate to this guy. There is not many things that wont annoy me. People in general, ugh! Seriously, I would not have any problem if all people except the ones I care fore just disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Worse than the pain and frustration of losing a loved one is the bitterness that devours you. It is pure poison for your life, you push everybody and everything you love away from you. This show portrays it perfectly. We all have gone or will go through something similar eventually, it is one of our strongest bonds as humans. It is such an unpleasant experience that we rarely if ever discuss or even think about this stuff. But we will all experience this in one way or another.

I watched After Life in a single night and I think I cried more than I laughed, I loved it

Most ppl w autism have sensory processing issues too. After Life was basically a show about how Ricky Gervais hosts awards shows. But I have to agree with him on this. It drives me nuts when I'm sitting next to someone who is sniffling incessantly or clearing their throat.
