You can tell how seriously he actually takes this

Ricky Gervais used to be a Pop Star back in the 80s, he was actually quite good, I don't know why he hides it.

He has a good voice. Nice guitar playing.
By now with the amount of people who have seen The Office or even David Brent: Life on the Road, I bet if he took Foregone Conclusion on the road, he'd do really well. I actually really like this song and Freelove Freeway, actually pretty good lyrics for being wrote for a skit basically
David Brent is actually really good at playing the guitar . Brilliant !
It's actually genius that this is channelled through his David Brent Character. He knows he's good enough to put a song together and sing a tune, but he doesn't want to be a rock star. It's sincere, mostly factually accurate but written for comedy through an already successful character. He's added a whole other layer to David Brent. Ricky G played 4D chess with his best pieces.
David brent's career promises to be meteoric
This is good music.
So funny how his face changes to Brent while singing
Awesome! Glad I found this! I love this man!
Amazing I'm speechless 😶
I love his voice, I love him. I found out about him from family guy when he did the voice of Billy fin. And he does that same laugh when he was on the office in season 7 with Michael Scott. I just got done watching all of the office with Steve Carell and now I want to see the original. Love Ricky Gervais voice

Well, I hope you've gone and watched all of the Ricky Gervais Show with Steven Merchant and Karl Dilkington. After that, got to go back to the originals and listen to XFM radio. Some of his funniest laughs are on those. I love him too

I can't believe Mandy Khoo said what I was just going to post. So I will say Bowie and Gervais, my favorite musicians. Makes life worth waking up for.
9 years ago?! I feel like I've only just got over the shock of it being the 10th anniversary of the office.

He can actually sing😮😮😮
He didn't fluff anything, using an excuse as a coverup of sincerity.
He got that line about suffering for his art off Neil Innes.

Maybe Ricky Gervais should wright a song about Karl Pilkington, and call it "head like an orange." But then again, i guess David Brent has never met Karl...

# seventy miles an hour but no more # ..would be good with some Noel Gallagher lead guitar kicking in after the 1st verse.
Looks and sounds a bit tense in this - not as relaxed as the recorded version. Has a really nice voice though and like the song.

+Sarithus At 01:39 he made an error with the timing of the chord change. You can see he acknowledges it by shaking his head to one side. Hope this helps.

Not so - the head shake to one side is linked to the lyrics about not needing the hard shoulder - if you see the official video he makes a much more decisive hand gesture but obviously limits it to a head movement in this case
Sounds crazy like Bowie.

Ricky G definitely wrote this......because he only plays songs he's written himself.
Ooh it was David Brent, it wasn’t me. Shut up. You ARE David Brent
he should've played the chinese song " tu-ning " first.....

Shite - horses for courses....
"I'm not a real popstar! Stop it!" - He's right, real popstars these days can't play guitar or write their own songs.
Brent needs to learn not to hit the low E string when playing his chords!
Brent would never hit 70!
